Just a thought but i dont agree with the jib academy from salomon. I mean 16 and under! So much for focusing on older more mature freeskiers. I mean what, am i not good enought just cause i'm not 16. WTF

I was sooooo stoked when I found out there was going to be one last year at P.C...and then I figured out later that it was all for girls

Well then what about the kids under 16 that have talent? There are many more mature age contests than junior contests. I think it's legit.

salomon understands that the best way to get the up and comers is to host a comp exclusively for them that offers lucrative prizes. from a business perspective it makes more sense than a comp for older people

jib academy is for kids. it's not that big of a deal. i'm 22, and i'm not upset about it. i coached at one of the stops last year and it was great. so many little grommers out there shredding gnar. it they opened jib academy to older folks, the whole feel would be lost. there were kids in my group who had never slid a rail, and i think they would have been completely intimidated had there been brash twenty-somethings in the group. if you want a fun event for people over the age of sixteen, go check out south shore soldiers or something.
