Lately i have seen alot of threads hating on alot of pros. The whole controversy with sammy and the bowling thing, tanner drunk at the premiers... etc. I think people are forgetting a huge thing. They are pros but they are humans too. People seem to think that they arent allowed to act like normal people. Tanner drunk at IFM.... it seems to me like he was just stoked to release his movie to the public. But everyone hates on him cuz he was drunk. this seems especially hypocritical considering all the people on here who post about "how drunk they were and oh man they smoked 12 blunts" etc. So he had a few too many drinks he was psyched.
And then sammys situation is even more rediculous. The kid is 18 the same age as most of you on this site. And yet you guys flip cuz he has a little fun at a bowling alley. What he did didnt hurt anyone, he was just messing around like we all do. Im sure alot of people have done alot of way worse things, yet we dont have multi page threads hating on them....
basically i gues what im trying to say is i think were being way to judgmental of pros these days. they are normal people just like us

Considering that tanner was opening HIS premiere and a bunch of people were there, some of them children, I think what he did was straight up dumb. Go have a party at a premiere or a movie showing with people over 18 only, but not where there are kids that are to be influenced by these people...or even scared.

I have met Sammy once, I have ridden the chair lift with Seth Morrison just this season already. There both super chill people. All you have to do is just talk to them like they are a person. Like dude said that created the thread, they are just like us. Stop the hate and think the things they do for us, they make sick movies, they are the reason we get to go to aspen and watch sick skiing and party with hot babes. Look at the sig stuff seth has put out. We do owe them a lot! Where would ski companies be without them? What would skis look like? Would switch be possible if Seth and whoever else made it huge? Think about how skiing would be without the pros.

I agree, they are humans, and stuff gets blown out of proportion, but:
In our society, people in the spotlight need to be held to different standards. They are people, but beyond that they represent whatever it is they do, and most importantly they are role models. The mainstream judges our sport and the people who partake in it based on what these guys do. Yeah you can't expect them to be perfect, but with the way our society works they have to be held to different standards.

I think that one of the coolest things about skiing is how laid back everyone is, and that you can meet someone and be havin a few beers with them later that night.
I don't think it's fair to diss any pro because he had a few too many...Anyone who drinks is going to have a few too many from time to time, and anyone who drinks realizes that sometimes, you have a few and before ya know it you're drunk regardless of whether you wanted to be or not.
In my eyes, these guys aren't celebs liek Hilton and Spears...They are just people who fucking love skiing like everyone else does on this site, and they should get to enjoy the same things that everyone else does, which includes getting drunk at a party every now and then.
As for the whole role model thing, if people aren't smart enough to make their own decisions, and just blindly follow what their "favorite pro" does, then let them find out the hard way what is right and wrong to do...It'll be a good lesson for them.
Annnd, I'm done ranting now.
