Help with math

I have to do this algebra questions and i dont get how you do it.
One is 2/3(6+-9v+4v)=?
and the other is 11(3x+2)+4(5x+6)=?
i have a test tomorrow on this stuff

dont you just get the variable on one side and the numbers without on the other?
what grade are you in btw?

Fine... i'll walk you through the second one because it's easier and it's late... same concept on the first one but with the fraction...

All you have to do is multiply out the parenthesis...

11(3x+2)+4(5x+6)

11(3x) + 11(2) + 4(5x) + 4(6)

33x+22+20x+24

now simplify..

53x+46

BRAVO! you done it.  now do the same thing with the first.

my bad i misread that.  i thought you needed to simplify.

2/3 x (6-9v + 4v)
first do 6-9 then times it by v then add 4 to that then times it by v. times that number by 2/3.

11(3x+2)+4(5x+6)=?

11 times 3 times x plus 2. then do 4 times 5 times x + 6. then add both of your answers from, each Parentheses that you multiplied by 11 and 4

It would be 53x=-46 because you have to subtract on both sides. then divide by 53.

Or, you know, open your text book.  I've found that opening the text book helps.

2/3*-5v = -3 1/3v
3 1/3v +4=?
-4 -4
3 1/3v = -4

3 1/3 3 1/3
v =is about -1 1/5
