Is it really worth spending the extra 200-300 for the nikon name and a little bit better quality lens. the both have the vibration reduction/optical stabilization. so if anyone has experience with either lens.....how to the work....shoot....feel....ext. is it worth going for the nikon???? thanks

Nikon lenses generally are better constructed than Sigma lenses, or so my experienced photography teacher in college says. I would trust her word with that. I have two Nikkor (Nikon brand) lenses for my D80 and they definitely operate to my expectations.

if you have a kit lens wich is surely something around 18-55 or 70 I'd go for 70-210, classic lens for portraits and good zoom. anyway. just my 2 cents.
