well, i got my % body fat measured today, and im very happy with the results..

last year, at this time, i was at 40% body fat..

this year however it is different.

this year, my % body fat has gone down to 25%. im very happy now

Hahaha, that's so rediculous what a lot of you guys are saying. MacMahoooon was the most correct. In Human Anatomy and Physiology last year, we had a professional bodybuilder and a TON of different doctors come in as guest speakers, and there's no way in hell a lot of you are three or four percent body fat. Who the hell are you all trying to impress on here by saying that you have a really really low percent, but in actuality, the only sport you do is skiing, and in the summer you just sit on your asses and watch televsion all day and talk on NS? Well, whatever. I'm skinny as shit (not by choice), and I probably have a higher body fat percentage than many of the really tough and committed athletes and whomever on here since I haven't been able to exercize much since my injuries and I'm one of the biggest pigs out there. Sammers is probably my toughest competition. By the way, Sam, we still need to have an eating contest.

sarah, i really am like 4%, well last summer, it was like 4.58% and it was cuz i rode my bike 40miles daily. so i was super ripped, i bet im like 9% now

yeah, i didntthink it was possible to be below 3, or else you would be sick all the time and look like you have aids. but body fat and weight is all dumb, its all about how you feel. if you feel fat or if you feel skinny do what you got to do. if you feel healthy, more power to you.

I'm anything but healthy...skinny maybe, definately not active enough. I used to run every day, not any more.

Personally, I think you shouldn't care bout your body fat % unless its at a dangerously high/low level, warning you that you NEED to do something.

the online calculator wouldnt work for me. im 5'6', 112 lbs, at the belly button i am 24.5 inches, i exercise everyday (usually road biking), and my wrist is 6 inches in circumference. does anyone want to do mine for me?

you're not going to get it by measuring your waist and your wrist. there are 2 ways I know of, one is where your hands go on two metal handles and it measures how much electricity your body can conduct and it figures out your body fat %, and then there's the water test where they get your weight in water and figure it out that way.

i want to know mine. its probably rather low since im extremely active and in very good shape, but i doubt its a 2. one of my friends has a brother who is a 2% and its insane. i didnt believe him, so he showed me the results and he is seriously a 2%. its unbelievable

yah 2% is insane. i wrestle, and we have to get measured weekly. i was down to 3.2%. off-season i'm at 5%. to be at 2% is really really bad for your body.

im 6'3 and 145 puonds. last time i got mine checked was at the end of the cross country season and i was at 3.2% now im proaly more around 4, but by the time track starts ill be back down too around that 3.2%. and yes, i am one skinny mother fucker.

i'm about 15% when i take it on the height weight charts it says i'm like 65% body fat, but thats because i'm almost solid muscle, lift every day, ect. high performance (athlete) male body weight % is like 6%-20%, and healthy is like to 25%. if you're 6% you're dangerously low, and if you're below that you can die. i know really skiiny ppl that have high percentages and really large people with low percentages, just coz like 3/4 of the ppl on this site are about 3 inches wide doesnt mean they're muscular, it just means they're scrawny

lance armstrong is 3%ish, so i have my doubts about people on here being less than 5. im at 9 and thats pretty damn low seeing as healthy for my age is 14-18%

I'm at 18% body fat, being 5'1'ish and 122... I don't really understand it though because some other girls I know that are about th same height weigh less, but have a higher body fat... the whole thing is confusing to me.

and here another way to do it (for girls at least, its from seventeen)

1. your weight in pounds divided by your height in inches
2. (result 1) divded by your heigh in inches (yes, again..)
3. (result 2) times 703
