As for the comps I don't know why there hasn't been in the past and I agree there should be more but how much activity is too much when it would result in a park being closed every weekend for an event or shoot or such? (no comments on jonesys last year, we hashed that out last spring...) sometimes it's just better to have a park open for you guys instead of having it shut down half a day or a full day for a contest. But then again, I haven't seen the event schedule this year so I don't know if anything was added.

Yea like Kutch said, more rails! and skinny boxes are always fun. Photoshoots need to be toned down a little. COMPETITION. Actually put up payday jib this year so nightskiing can be optional, because I piss my pants in laughter everytime I go nightskiing. I don't exactly LOVE Jonesys location, but I don't hate it...aaaaaand that's about it. OH WAIT, I'll take some new heels if you got any.

comps are good, i have never understood why Park CIty has snowboard comps but NO ski comps. lame

Kutch, it's because no one will put on a ski comp. The resort doesn't put the events on, groups do. We just provide the space to host them. There is talk of a ski comp but whether or not it gets on the event calendar isn't up to the park staff, it goes higher up. :)

more rails more rails more rails.
i wish there was some rail jams too, they're always fun. but just having more rails instead of boxes would make everyone happy i'm sure.

I found an old feature I'm bringing back to life this winter. Was digging around and in the pile of scrap metal was the old double tube rainbow from 3 or 4 years ago that got used maybe a month or two of that season. So there's a new feature for alot of you.... Also, going to weld the up flat down single tube that was in the crown a couple seasons ago and make it available to go back into a park. Most of the single tube features are broke in half right now, so some of them will just be welded back together and some of them will get new metal to extend the length. So I haven't forgotten the tech features for everyone they just aren't the top priority on the list until I get all the box features back to life for the start of the season parks.
I'm outta here for the weekend in 5 minutes. Adios and I'll be back online on tuesday.

I still think that the takeoffs are too short and poppy, but noone else agrees with me.

Well, park city has always had poppy jumps, this isn't west coast with the longer than higher lips. Saying that, we'll see what the insurance company says this year as far as the park goes. That meeting is in december and i've already been through the pre-meeting meeting which was pretty brutal...

i think it would be sick to have like a 15-20 foot just buttery as flat bar, i think this is the perfect rail for trying tricks and in general is just fun to have. as everyone else said more rails etc. but im sure your gonna kill it this year mike so i dont have to mcuh to say

I forgot to add the "likes" part with the dislikes. I was in a bad mood. Everything else about park city is way sick.Â
It's really cool that you made this cult and invited us all in too mike. thanks for that.

Maybe park passes will need to be added? I would be totally down to sign my life away and pay 10-20 bucks for a park pass.

It's already been started evan, I'm taking this season to work it all out and make sure the kinks are small and it's a system that is good for you guys as well as pleases the insurance company. But I can't say anything else about it because it's a work in progress and it's against policy to comment on stuff that specific to the workings of a program.

Dislikes..... gap between Kings Crown and Jonesys.
Last year Kings started out great, but they got super small. Pick n Shovel is there with small hits. The jumps in Kings are fun, but not a good tranny between the super tiny ones and the ones in Jonesys. It would be sick to have a jump 45 or so in Kings, or at least how the very last one was early last year.
I dunno... it just seems like there's Pick (small), Lower Jonesys (a lil bigger) Kings (decent and fun) then Jonesys which is enormous. I guess all i'm saying is bigger jumps in Kings.

Well Rich, last year was bad because of the snow. They blew our allotment of snow and then it never really snowed to accompany that man made snowpack. So the jumps started to get smaller because the snow was going away. Last year was the first time I remember the crown going to dirt on any part of the run other than that last steep face. There were thin snow spots all year, and we had to take snow from somewhere to cover that thin layer and make the run useable. Hence no third jump the last couple weeks as alot of that snow got pushed into the other jumps to help out the trannies there. The last jump, well, that was it's own internal issue that was taken care of, but that jump is in the sun all day, and it lost it's size quickly when march rolled around just by the sun doing it's thing. As for this year, I don't know what the plan is for it yet... but when I find out i'll post about it.

Likes- Superpipe! Lots of jumps, ton of boxes, fast laps(usually), sick local kids that giver
Dislikes- no rope tow for Superpipe, need more long rails, paint takeoffs and landings on flat light days.

We've mentioned the rope tow and it hasn't gone over well so far. Painting the lips, we don't do it for the fact if we did it one day, we would have to do it every day. If we did it every day, it would eat away at the lips and there would be more time spent rebuilding the lips. So it's a competition only thing. It's all about choosing the right goggles, and we don't get too many flat light days... maybe a week out of the whole season. It was less than that last year.

That and it's a manpower issue. Lift Ops would have to have two people man it when it is open and I don't know if that's something they have the manpower for. But, it's a work in progress.

i agree with rich but understand what you're saying about lack of snow mike...
but if jonesy's is going to be closed as much as it was last year then we need bigger jumps somewhere, and kings seems like the best place.

like a long down flat down or something..
i love park city though and its still a pretty sick place to ski everyday.

We will be giving the existing down flat down a makeover this year, hopefully, before it hits the snow. It is getting extensions...
