Hey I'm here in southern Colorado and this years great record is having the first snow on the mountains this year in August. Yes, August 29th recorded snowfall on Monarch pass, and the national weather service is expecting significant snowfall within the next week on most of the southern mountains in Colorado ,, I dunno what that means for the Summit county people, but Let's just hope it works out for them too...

Dang straight, this is Colorado's season. Significant snowfall in the first few weeks is actually kinda common in Colorado, when it does snow, i'll make sure to post pictures to give everyone else a taste.

so today in ap environmental science i learned that global warming will warm the atlantic ocean, causing the gulf stream (warm water brought north from florida) will reverse and colder water will flow south from areas like nova scotia, bringing a change of weather pattern on the eastern seaboard. scientists are predicting that within the next 10 years the east coast will experience colder winters with much, much more precipitation (aka snow). in addition to this, areas like the rockies will experience warmer winters. still wet, but more rain than snow. i dont necessarily believe all this, but i am keeping my fingers crossed.

this is not washingtons year, as much as I want it to be it just isnt going to happen. I'm sure it will be better than last year but its just going to be too warm again this year.

i was in albaqurque (sp?), Arizona on like august 24th and went up some big mountain for the area with a ski hill (forget the name) and there was snow on the ground. you get to the top and it was like 40 degrees and little piles of snow. you get to the base of the hill ands its 90 degrees agian. so its cool to see snow in arizona and even so early

Wolf Creek always opens the earliest with natural snow, Loveland and Keystone open early with crappy man made snow. Wolf Creek doesn't have a park, but it's the best in the state. Parks in colorado usually don't open much earlier than Mammoth.

The other day I was over at the Great sand dunes national monument in southern colorado, not far from Wolf Creek ski area, and there was snow covering half of the dunes ((that's a lot))
