What the fuck Big Mountain?

So lets face it......opening the mountain Thanksgiving would be pointless at this point anyway because we have 0" of snow. BUT the thing that pisses me off is this:
Opening December 8th, the mountain automatically takes off 18 days from the average season. Thats basically a day out of every week of the season....closed. The significance of this is that season passes still cost the same. Shouldn't we get a fucking discount? wtf?

It kind of sucks, but it probably says on the back of your pass that the mountain's opening time is dependent on conditions. A ski area simply cannot guarantee opening and closing dates because it is entirely dependent on weather, and that's just something you have to take into consideration when buying a pass. Maybe that will change once we learn to control the weather...

Big Mountains passes are pretty cheap to begin with.
Take Crystal Mountain, in WA, for example. No student rate. Less skiable acres. Same amount of snow. No park. Pass costs 700+ more than Big Mountain.
It really isn't that much of a problem. I would encourage people to wait until the end of the season before we pass judgment on Big Mountain. Let's see if the changes work.

Yes, this is true. But the set date was December 8th. They cut off part of the season and set prices long before summer was even over. It was THEN that they should have lowered the prices. This wouldn't piss me off if they were Planning on opening thanksgiving, but thats not the case.
