FT: iPod Touch 16 gig (feeler)

not really sure where to post this but i have a 16 gig jailbroken iPod touch that i don't really want and was wondering if anyone has something sweet to trade for it.  mint condition, still has the plastic on the screen.  i'll post pictures if anyone is interested...

well it's working for me and it's incredibly easy to restore if someone wants me to do that.  but personally i like playing NES games.

O well i guess if you could restore it and get rid of all that id do it but i dont have the money. just saying though my friend had a modded xbox, and it practically blew up after like a month.

Mine is jailbroken as well and I have all the iphone apps, NES, other third party apps...there is nothing wrong with doing this.  All you do is set your iTunes to manually update and if you see that there is a new iTunes that wants to download, to be safe, all you have to do it restore it.  It only takes about two minutes.  The whole jailbreaking process has been simplifed and there are even youtube instructional videos to walk you through it...i wouldn't let the jailbroken aspect prevent you from getting this iPod Touch...it's a great product, I love mine...free bump.

What about the info going around that if you update after its jailbroken or unlocked the phone it has corrupted data and At&t won't do anything about it? Is this accurate?

I don't think there have been any cases of a "bricked" iPod Touch...my friend's iPhone was "bricked" until he performed a hard restore and it worked fine....hold sleep and home buttons for about 15-20 seconds until you see an iTunes logo pop up and then continue to hold home and let go of sleep for a few seconds....connect to your computer and it will recognize that a hard restore is necessary and will fix it.  The easy fix is to just set your iTunes to manually update so this never happens...either wait a few days to see if the update will mess with jailbroken iPods or just restore your ipod and then jailbreak it again....it only takes about 10 minutes to do and really adds to the functionality of the already great product.

lol you can just pull em all off with WinSCP and  restore it, im sure AT&T couldnt tell the diff. But no seriously i have a bunch of third party apps on mine and it works perfectly. Someone buy this thing.

What you're thinking of is when an iPhone that has been unlocked (for use with a carrier other than ATT) is updated to 1.1.1 firmware.
The firmware update recognizes this and locks out all thrid party apps (since that is the only way to unlock it) and renders the phone near useless...it can be fixed though, to get the ipod features working again is fairly easy, the phone and text features can be restored as well, but it's more involved because you need to go in to terminal and do some command line work to reset the baseband firmware.
This has never been an issue with iPod touch that I know of, seeing as how there is no 1.1.1 firmware update, because there is no firmware, because it's not a phone.

how dumb some of you are still makes me laugh all these years later.
a unlocked ipod or iphone isnt going to blow up cause its unlocked. it also dosnt mean it cant be updated. if you update it, and it relocks, then fucking unlock it again. takes two mins and my pet monkey unlocked my iphone while handcuffed, blindfolded, and smoking a cigar.
my point is, if you dont know what your talking about, dont bash this guys thread.
ebay it man, youll get what its worth plus more cause its unlocked.
