06' Rossignol Scratch FS's, Would they be an OK one ski quiver?

Ok, well I am thinking about picking up a pair of 06' Rossignol Scratch FS's.  I am 180 lbs, 6'0'' tall, 20 years old and a experienced skier.  I am living in Boston now, and I have the opportunity to pick these skis up for only $230.  I was wondering if they would do alright all mountain, from what I have heard they are fine on groomers with the 116-84-109 dimensions.  I doubt I'll be getting much powder out here, and I was thinking that if I can get them so cheap I might be able to pick up some powder specific skis later on.  Would they do allright all mountain? and how would they handle pow?

Also, anyone know what differences there are between the 06' and the 08'? is there anything that sets the 08's apart enough to pay $270 more for them???

my cousin has been using those as his go-to ski for a while now.   he uses them basically every EXCEPT DEEP POW, where they might survive, but if you live in a place where 3ft dumps are daily, you might want something beefier

They are a great ski. The only difference sepearting them from the 07 and 08 model is the fact that the 07 and 08's are a little bit lighter in the tips and tails, but nothing you would drastically notice.

Also, what length are you going to purchase. I would say those are a great do-it-all ski!

I would be getting the 182 if I go with them.  I'm 6'0'' and 180 lbs.  I live on the east coast so 3ft powder dumps shouldn't be an issue.  I was thinking that if I get these this cheap I can buy wider skis later on should I need them.

I'd go for it. They are a solid ski that I have yet to see any issues with. Sounds like a great ski for what you need it for!

i'd recommend the FS's.  I've been riding on them for two seasons now and they do very well on groomers,park,and the occassional light pow dump.    i've been very happy with them. super durable

If you want a one ski quiver you should fatten up a little bit. The Scratch Sprayer BC is 88 underfoot and pretty stable. The BC WRS is 98 and really fun too.
