I was jus reading that news update, and i was stunned with some of the amazing paintings pollard has done. Hes a great skier and a great artist. If I was rich I would buy it all, so sick that its all at the dstructure in sf. Does he actually sell his stuff, and if so for how much?

in all honesty, i don't know the answer to your question. but i think pollard is very fortunate to be in the industry he's in. not only does he have wall pieces that are stunning in their own right, but he has the ability to mass produce his art in a way that makes it displayed, of which is unlike any other kind of it's sort. sure, alot of artists have galleries, and yes pollard does have this (in some sense) but his works are mass produced on a scale that makes them seen by the public on a daily basis. not only is it a good marketing move on his part, but it also makes consumers feel alot more connected to the work than if you bought a piece from a typical artist.

i definitely agree - very smart business move, although the people seeing the artwork are generally newschool skiers so i'd be intrigued to see how much of his artwork actually sells..obviously we don't hear about that side of things
