Ok, so I've liked skullcandy for a while. After owning a pair of Smokin' buds I decided I liked them, but they broke due to me being careless, so I purchased a pair of Full Metal jacket headphones, and I liked them. Sound quality I thought was great, and they had bumpin' bass.
   
    After about a month of using the headphones (no rigorous usage like biking, running or skiing with them) they started to fall apart. What the hell? I mean I've only slept with them in, and I've had them in my pocket a few times, and the wires are splitting where they meet the headphones and where the in-line volume adjuster is. I thought these were "Action Sport Headphones" and were durably built? WRONG. I'm pissed. Skullcandy sucks.

They claim that their warranty is good, but I've phoned the warranty number and emailed them several times with no luck.

Skullcandy headphones are really crappy, i bought some low-riders and when i brought them home i knew they were gonna fall apart like the next day so i went out and bought some sony MDR-V150's and theyre awesome, and i got em at bestbuy fer 25 bucks

i just bought some replacement gels through their website and 3 weeks passed and they hadn't arrived, i had to email them a few times to actually get them to ship... they're a fairly new company right? hopefully they'll get their stuff together cause i love the sound quality

yeah, skullcandy is definetly not top notch when it comes to quality or durability, but they look cool and they do a lot for skiing

do you mean sponsor events and shit, cause I think they do that for snowboarding a lot more.

there team is stacked.  they hhok up kids at all levels.  but i guess that im just kinda bias because they hook me up so i cant really dis them too much

i waranteed my skull crushers, broke them the second day i had that, but they hooked it up with warantee pretty quickly, quality sound, but shitty durability

i will never pay retail for skullcandy. i paid $30 shipped for my TI's and they have been as good as i could ask for. sure the sound quality isnt Bose or anything but i knew that when i bought them. they have held up fine with zero problems for almost a year now. i will probably pick up another set of skullcandys if these ever die and if i can get a good deal again. also from what i have heard they a pretty good about backing their warranty, so theyre good in my book

ha ive had my stanton dj pros for 2 years now and theyre as good as the day i bought them, and i havent exactly been gentle with them either, ive dropped them a few times and theyre always in my bag getting bumped around.                                                                                                                     stantons rule

what would you guys recommend for like 40 dollar in ear headphones? i was going to buy smokin buds again today, but i decided against it. i've had them before and the left bud sounded like it wasent even with the right so i sold them to my friend.

its always better to throw down the little extra bit of $$$ when it comes to head phones.  the more expensive ones are alot more durable, plus the sound quallity is SOOOOOO much better.  i threw down like $100 on a pair of Vmodas, money well spent.   just dont go and waste your money on those ones made by Sure, there nice, but sooooooo overpriced.

I somehow managed to blow a pair of lowriders after about 2 weeks of use. I called up skullcandy. They got right back to me. Sent me a new pair, and a stack of stickers. legit.

i think ive gone through about 8 or 9 pairs of skullcandys in the last two years. i bought a pair of the blue skullcandy icons wen the school year started though. and theyre actually in good condition and lasting for a long time.

for me skull candy has been legit, i mean i only have those tune ups in my helmet, but i lost the chord emailed them and they  sent one out the next day no charge for shipping or anything

i like mine alot...i dont find my smokin buds any worse than my friends 80$ seinhouser(sp) earbuds. after about 7 months of using mine one earbud stopped playing music so i put em in the mail box and about 1 month later i got a brand new pair back, pretty quality warranty if you ask me.

and my t.i's have had no problems yet...

I don't agree with anything being said here. I had the skullcrushers... which were alright, the bass was too much, and they sucked down batteries... but last year I bought the icons, and they held up through so much it's insane. For a 25 dollar headphone, I'll keep buying them. No, you can't expect the quality to be great, but it's the best for the price.

the little headphones are complete shit

the big ones ( lowriders, skullrushers, GI, TI, MF sig model) are all pretty legit, and you cant beat that warrenty!!!

but still, iv seen better headphones than skullcandy,  thier gettin pretty played IMO

I have skull crushers and after five months one ear went out so I sent it in and they sent me a brand new one three weeks later.

Basically they look cool
               they sound alright nothin special
               but the warranty is good

and I dont see why you would wanna ski with nice ass headphones anyway so I think Skull candy makes good head phones for skiing

i know

iv been skiin wit these sorta behind the ear clip on ones from walmart aka the mexican mall for like 3 seasons. i just buy a new pair every season.  theyr pretty loud and theyr the only ones iv found that are still comfortable and will fit under my mad max.

but when im not wearin that, i usually rock my lowriders.

Sent them back a while ago and just got new ones today. They came with like 4 things of double bubble. Such a little thing to throw in there, but I was so stoked.

If you're planning on wearing headphones skiing... SkullCandy isn't a bad way to go considering their incredibly lenient warranty policy.  However, don't expect great sound quality.  If your getting headphones for use other than skiing, you would be a fool to go with SkullCandy.

i completly agree with u. Its fucking annoying when ur on the lift and ur friends are listening to their ipods and u  try to talk to them but they cant hear u. so u just end up sitting looking at the scenery.    Or ur going down the mountain and u yell at them trying to tell them something but they dont hear u,  its usually about something important too that they miss.

I think the sound quality is pretty damn good. I tried my bros $80 SOUND CANCELING headphones and my candies were SOOO much better.
