sooo basically i have come to realize tha snowboarding has finally reached there peak. every trick has been done and mastered and now all it is, is the same tricks just diffrent spots and styles. but honestly nothing new in snowboarding has happened in a few years. obviously its still dope as hell.. But as a skier and all my other fellow skiers on here we are still growing rapidly. i know at some point the same thing will happen, but as for now its are time to shine an show people that skiers F*ckin kill it !!! there is so much progression in this sport right now and i cant wait to see whats next. But for what i know we are still growing every day and kids are pushin the limits and it awesome. cant wait to see whats next in the sport.. keep shreddin and expanding, we are the generation that has changed this sport. lets keep that sh*t up!!! word.. hope u all agree

I have to disagree. Snowboarding is much bigger, diverse, and growing much faster than skiing.
I feel that snowboarding is much further ahead than skiing, especially matutity wise. Snowboard movies are fun to watch, generally have a peppy soundtrack, and great editing. Ski movies tend to be less fun to watch, have a gangsta attitude, and not a fun overall editing.
As for acceptance, I dispise skiing. Snowboarding has so many styles, and all are accepted. I feel that in skiing, if your pants are 3XL and below your ass, your not accepted. Look at the no-poles trend, its really hated on, and look at the tight pant phase, really hated on.
Yet, I'm just going to keep doing my thing, and I'll contunie to buy snowboard movies over ski moveis.

ive thought so much about this.
snowboarding sort of has reached its peak. they did the double cork and it sort of hit the wall.
i hope the same thing hasn't happened to skiing with double flips and even if it hasnt, is what jon is doing heading too far in the direction of Olympic ski jumping?
remember when everyone would only call for steexy 5s and everyone hated anything past that, well now its steezy 9s. we really are heading in a spin or flip to win.
i have contradicting views.

i still feel that way. once you go past a certain amount, i'd say 7, it just looks like your flailing around. i love going huge and throwing 180s or doing simple backflips.

Yes, but not spinning over 5 isn't creative...it's just trying to be all sooo steezy and legit and supposedly style-focused. If these same guys were style focused, they would realize that bigger spins can look good too.
Also, I don't really feel like skiing is being pushed very much in different directions... 9th and Surface are just two companies. Look at how many companies support the mainstream skier faux-gangster bro.
People with different styles are pretty much doing the same tricks anyway, so it all looks the same. (that's pretty arguable, to be honest).

95% of the people I know (acquaintances) younger than me do BOTH of these things.
1. Snowboard
2. Smoke Cigarettes
3. Smoke Weed
I'm glad most of the youth is doing "whats cool"
I'm Glad I'm not. Hell yea for not following the "trend"

But snowboardings sick because it's getting creative like skateboarding. There's so much more possible with a board.
Skiing's kind of limited. Don't get angry at me, but it is. Unless we can find ways to do new things on new types of obstacles.
But like for a board, you can do nose presses, tail presses, make tricks look like tricks on a skateboard. I think that overall fact is sick about snowboarding.

Snowboarding isn't a trend. You just view it as some made up reason why snowboarding is worse than skiing. You could name off a million people on either side that smoke cigs and weed, and claim like crazy. Just because snowboarding is more main stream doesn't mean you have the right to hate on it. Skiing and snowboarding rely on each other so much more than people realize, each sport feeds off each other a lot. Where would skiing be without snowboarding? And where would snowboarding be without skiing? If one of these things never happened the other would have never succeeded. Both sports would be much worse off without the other.
