Sausage / Licorice

Okay so i was eating left over deluxe pizza from dinner last night that had sausage on it. Today, it tasted exactly like black licorice. I had to spit it out i thought i was going to throw up. It was kept in the fridge so its not like went bad over night. I don't get it! Can anyone explain this to me?

 It's called fennel, often found in Sausages as it is a common spice. Most likely in your spice cabinet, it is also the main ingrediant in licorice, although these days most licorice isnt flavored naturally.

yeah tehre's fennel in sausages, you probably just bit a piece by accident which brings out a really strong taste of it.
