Ep Pro vs SFB vs Scratch Steeze

yo,
I'm for an all around powder biased set-up, I'm looking for a ski that rips on deep days, i ski in the PNW and get up to BC pretty frequently.  I know the Ep pro would rip in pow and be a fun as ski to play around on.  It feels my style be the SFBs are supposed to be sick for all around rippin.  but then again the steeze is supposed to be the best backcountry/all mountain jibber EVER.

I'm 6 foot and 180 lbs

I'm leanin towards the EP pros but need some help,

I'm the same size as you, and I used the SFB last year a lot.  It's a great all around ski, and the early taper lets it turn incredibly fast for a wide ski.  I still use them, but now I've got the EP Pro too, and it's a ton of fun to mess around on, soft snow or hardpack.  Both are good skis, but the SFB is going to be more reliable in variable terrain.

Ep pros are extremely soft. Softer than bents or any other ski ever made is what I've heard. Unless you want something really soft, that you can only ski in pow don't go for them. Go for the Bacons if you want a really good all around ski. As for the Steeze, I don't know much about them. But there Rossi so they must be pretty good. Probably very expensive though.

i was thinking the ep pros look like they would be fun because of the early rise and how soft they are as a powder ski and on the groomers a butter stick too.  in idea pollard does alot of 180 nose press butter spins and stuff that are really unique to his style and it looks like those skis would make it real fun.  also the early rise makes me think that because they have 100 cm of effective edge they would be ok to ski on groomers but real easy to rock back and forth on the tips and tails for butters and ollies and such, what do you think?  i have some motherships and the old pollard pro 186 for bombing hard pack.  how do your ep pros ride on groomers?

I think only 100cm of snow contact is not alot at all...

...thats about as long as a snow blade...how does buttering on a snow blade work out...?

oh, the EP Pro will butter fine in powder...but they will be skittish as hell on anything else.

alright smart ass...use your brain. you butter by leaning forward or back and flexing the ski. when you lean forward, the rest of the nose or tail will come in contact with the snow

Im not being a smart ass...

...Im just saying that the "softest ski ever" has only 100cm on contact with the snow, and a big noodly tip/tail that are already decambered.  The ski is going to wheelie out on a tail butter and be pretty weird feeling on a nose butter.

Have you skied a rockered ski on hard snow?  Its not all that great...

Back to his question...

The Rossi Steezes are sick skis, much like the scratch bc wrs from last season, but they are wider, heavier and float like champs. When I demoed them they turned pretty slow in tight sections. For all mountain use and crud busting they are great. The Bacon is similar to that as well, only it eases into turns faster and the elliptical sidecut can cut some quicker arcs. The Bacon is also a bit softer than the Steeze with a much smoother flex pattern, making it less of a crud buster.

Both skis would be killer PNW pow skiing, thats what I do with my Bacons.

This is going to sound really lame but the Steezes have Rossitop minicap construction which is bad fucking ass. I have been on a pair of scratches with minicap for years and they are like brand new, so durable I can't even believe it. If you are willing to make sacrifices in certain areas for maximum fun, the EP Pros look unbelievable. If you want the ultimate go anywhere do anything ski go with the Steeze. If you want something in the middle, SFB.

the steezes look fuckin rad but they seem a bit stiffer than i'm lookin for, and as far as an all arounder i have some motherships that rip pretty well for what i ski, but the sfb looks super sick for anything from pow to playin on groomers. this is the hardest year for choosing a new stick for me, the pollards look like just a fun as ski for playin around but i deff wouldn't wann ski them 24/7.  has anyone skiied the pollards and if so what where they like on hard pack at speed and how does that early rise ACTUALLY help as far as skiing more square on pow?

thanks bro that was really helpful i think i'm gonna go with the bacons.  they seem soft enough to butter real easy but stiff enough to bomb if i want.
