Frets On Fire

I just downloaded this game, it's basically guitar hero for PC, Mac, or Linux. Rather than using a guitar controller you hold the keyboard like a guitar and use the F1 - F5 keys as frets and the enter key to strum. It sounds awkward but it works really well. You can download it free from:

this is just the basic version and it only has 3 songs but the best part is, you can download new songs for free. If you like a song there's a good chance someone else has made it for the game. Here's a site with a couple of song packs from the guitar hero games:

It's also worth noting that you'll need a somewhat decent PC to run this, preferably made in the last century. It's a super fun game, I recommend everyone check it out.

iv had it for a while, its fun, just no carrer mode or anything. but its free so its cool

I love it because I don't get an urge to play guitar hero too often and I don't own it either. but when I do I've come close to buying a 360 for $400 then guitar hero for another $50+ but then I just play this and I'm okay.

I really didn't like frets on fire. Most of the songs I tried using didn't work and even then it was just kinda crappy. I even was using my xbox360 guitar with it but it still sucked. I would recommend buying GHIII for mac/pc when it comes out.

this kid in my computer class plays ddr ont he computer and uses the keyboard as liek the thigns u press. its so redicliously fast tho. and hes soo fuckign good at it. its prob the most neard thign i have ever seen.

I downloaded a couple of crappy songs that sucked, but all of the songs in the link above are really high quality, most of them are ripped right from guitar hero. I'm willing to bet that GH3 when it comes for PC will blow balls like everything else aspyr has ever ported.

i've downloaded it on my mac but when i try to open it, the screen goes black and nothing starts. is this only me?
