Looking for a new camera

check my videos.

I got a canon hv20, for $860. Has some sick footage, HDV. I also wrote up a review. Some others commented. In that case, you'll have lots of left over cash.

Thats my input, i dont really know of any other cams aroudn this price

hv20 sounds really nice to me, plus you could keep the extra cash to buy new lenses or whatever

look for a vx2000 or something along those lines, way legit and you can get them for pretty cheap like 1100-1300

dont get a normal hdv cam over a nice 3ccd camera.  you can get such better looking footage from a nice 3 chip camera than some hdv.  id say get a gl2, vx2100, or dvx100.
ive never used a gl2 but i really like the picture they get for skiing, its got a really soft, film look, and its probably the cheapest of the 3.
vx2100 is probably the most well rounded out of the three, plus it does extremely good in low light.  most people think vx's are more for skating type filming (which they are still great for)  but if you mess with the settings and everything you can get a great soft film looking picture with really great colors, or if you wan you can get that intense skating look that vx's are great for.
the dvx is the most expensive and most people would say its the  "best" of the three,  though i definatly think there is no "better" camera,  ive seen vx and gl2 footage that i still like more than dvx, and ive seen dvx footage that i like better than vx and gl footage,  it all depends on how you use the camera.  the dvx has the best/most manual controls/settings, and it does get amazing footage.
and by getting a gl2 or vx2100 you will save money that could go to lenses or a tripod or whatever you want.  and you definatly want a nice tripod nomatter what.
there are definatly other great cameras but these are just what id reccomend.
so pretty much get a gl2 if you want a nice soft film look.
vx2100 if you want a good all around camera with great vibrant colors and extremely good low light performance.
dvx if you want full control over the camea and a great film look.

just please dont get a cheap best buy hdv camera,  they are great for soccer moms that want a pretty good picture and dont ever want to use manual controls (auto controls suck).   though if all you want to do is whip out your camera and shoot without any setup or anything , and get ok looking shots then get a hdv,  then a nice 3ccd would be a waste of money.
but if you want to take your time and get great looking well setup shots then get something like i mentioned above.

yo emmetttt! whats up man??? at camp this kid had a vx2100 and it was really sick, good image quality, plus it has a handle...maybe a gl2??? I was looking at one of those for awhile and it seemed pretty sick, or you could go with panasonic, i know Bp was selling a dvc-30 for awhile...
