At least 1/3 of the threads in ski equipment these days are ads for gear being sold or people looking for gear. How about another forum for this? Didn't there used to be a gear selling section? But no-one used that anyway.
And I see about 3 identical threads every day along the lines of "what bindings should I buy" or "what length skis should I buy". A good addition to the site would be a buyer's guide for this sort of stuff - not recommending specific products but giving people the knowledge to make up their own minds.

i like it the way it is right now. this way you can still help people out while still scouting for some sick deals. but thats just my opinion.

I think most of the ski threads are legitimate questions. There are so many factors when it comes to choosing a set of sticks that you really can't lump any group of people into needing a certain length/flex/width ski. As far as a new forum goes, I could go either way. If things get more spread out it'll get harder to sell stuff on here, but at the same time the equipment forum can get cluttered at times. I'd say just save the effort for something else and leave the forums the way they are.

either have the ski equip/tech talk, and sell/buy/classifieds,
or make ski equipment just questions and tech talk, and force people to use the classifieds, cause they have never been much use
