Global Warming

Our planet is being killed by us. We are killing the earth we stand on. Soon, the artic ice sheets will, the oceans will rise, there will befood shortages, and no skiing. Global warming has already begun. On the east coast it is easy to see. Winters becoming shorter, summers long, ect. There are so many little things that we can do to stop this. Simple, easy things, that would only take seconds from your day. It's our planet, it's our choice. Do you want to keep skiing? Do this not for me, but for yourself... 1. carpool with friends when you go skiing or go anywhere 2. walk, ride a bike, take a bus, anything to use less gas 3. use energy efficient cars, appliences, anything that saves energy 4. recyle 5. use solar energy 6. and go to www.globalwarming.org Thank You

Yeah, what the fuck were you thinking.  When water evaporates it is a physical change, not chemical.  It can't change it's composition from H2O to CO2 magically.

i like how you say that 90% of man made co2 is from power plants and then from volcanoes. i didnt know volcanic eruptions were man made. 

Oh looking at your graph is probably better than reading the articles and research by scientists who say that co2 follows temperature not the other way around.  There are multiple articles explaining how and why co2 levels trail temperature. 

did you read any of the quotes or articles i posted? 

14% of co2 in the atmosphere is from burning fossil fuels. co2 is only .03 percent of the atmosphere

and the oceans do release co2 when they warm. they hold the majority of co2 on the planet and are constantly releasing co2 into the atmosphere and absorbing co2.  all of you who laugh about or argue the fact that warmer oceans release co2 are idiots. no h20 is not becoming co2 fuckwad evaporation is not resulting in co2. individual water molecules are not releasing co2, the oceans are.

yeah, carpool to the MTN. DONT USE ETHONOL, the process to grow the corn is just as bad... if not worse than using fossil fuels directly, get solar pannels, go off the grid, and drive an electric car. or the closest you can get. or just move to a ski town where you can walk to the gondola.

yeah but what people need to realize is that the earth is all interconnected works in cycles.  Upsetting one cycle upsets other cycles.  Putting the amount of excess CO2 into the atmostphere that we do may seem trivial, but it is enough to change the pattern of the cycles.  And using what you said. Yes, CO2 may have trailed heat on graphs of past temperatures, but (i dont know this for a fact) the amount of CO2 we have put into the atmosphere in the past 150 years could be enough to change that cycle too. 

Another thing people need to realize is that they need to see past the "warming" part of global warming and look more directly at it as "global environmental destruction".

And I know that there is a CO2 cycle between oceans and athmosphere, but it's got nothing to do with temperature. As you may know, currently we are on a "La niña" ocean phenomenom, that means cold water, THEN WHY THE FUCK THIS MONTH THE CO2 LEVELS ARE ON A DECADE RECORD?????!!  

read something retard, and show me a VALID source saying that CO2 is released from hot water ...

global warming is shortening our winters, do whatever you can do reduce your fossil fuel output.

Over 95% of the accessible environmental carbon dioxide is dissolved in the oceans (mostly as bicarbonate ions). It is well known that all gas solubilities in liquids are temperature dependent. Gas solubilities are higher at low temperatures and lower at high temperatures. The effect has been known for centuries and, for low gas concentrations, is correlated by a version of the Clausius-Clapeyron equation. The equation was initially derived during the 1830’s. It was one of the early successes for the science of chemical thermodynamics. It has been extensively tested for thousands of liquid/gas combinations. It is also well known that the effect applies in the oceans. Carbon dioxide dissolves in the cold polar seas from where it is carried down by deep ocean currents. As the currents rise towards the equator, the seas warm, the solubility becomes less, and the carbon dioxide is discharged into the atmosphere. This mechanism transports gigatonnes of carbon dioxide per annum. Thus, it is possible that the correlation simply results from the fact that when the global temperatures are low, carbon dioxide dissolves in the oceans and its concentration in the atmosphere is correspondingly reduced. Similarly, when global temperatures rise, the solubility decreases and carbon dioxide is discharged to the atmosphere. We explore the extent to which the correlation of Figure 1 can be explained by such vapour-liquid equilibrium effects."

your own source just contradicted what you have been arguing and said what i have been trying to tell you. that graph doesnt show co2 caushing temperature change it just as easily shows temperture driving co2 and your link also says what ive been trying to explain to you which is that warmer temperatures cause the oceansto release more co2 which explains why the higher temps on the graph are mirrored by co2 increases

U dont need to read shit idiot, its just a matter of seeing wich curve goes up and down first and wich one follows. Pure and simple visual analisys, best ther is, clearly CO2 curve moves first. Period.

world temperature fluctuations occur in patterns, sort of a big up and down on a graph.

i read some research that says we are nearing the end of a inter-ice age period, and therefore SUPPOSED to be in a cooling trend, but we are not, and temperatures are rising.

apparently a big hint for this is glaciers. in a cooling trend, glaciers would be slowly expanding because the colder winter would add to the ice/snow, the last time this happened was 1977 i believe.

i'll try to dig up that info for you.
