Ski Stores in Seattle Area?

Hey guys, I'm new to the area, and just wondering if there are any reputable shops around worth checking out... I know theres evogear, and thats about it so far.

I also see threads on expos going on too, any of those worth checking out? and is there a list of all of the expos going on somewhere?

BTW I live in downtown Seattle and work in Redmond... beyond that I'm not really familiar with the area at all.

Evo is decent. Stuertevans (Bellevue) will charge you an arm and a leg, but are a great choice for bootfitting. For an overall knowledgeable shop, Seattle Ski on Aurora is great, not the widest selection, but great shop techs. Alpine Hut (Redmond) used to kinda suck, but last I heard, they changed management, so they may have improved. Past that... Ski mart in Bellevue (owned by Stuertevans) and ... thats it actually.

Expo was GAY as fuck.
No Line, Armada, 4FRNT, or newschool specific company reps there.  No fat skis over like 100 waist. 

As far as shops I'm a fan of Mt. Pilchuck, they always hook me up there.  I honestly don't really know why a lot of people on this site don't like it.  Evo is pretty sweet, I haven't been to Seattle Ski but they seem like a good shop, at least at the expo they seemed like they knew what they were doing a little bit.

The line rep was there friday, as well as Matt Sterbenz for a while, I know for a fact that Evo has a pair of hellbents, 2 or three pairs of pontoons, two pairs of  ANT's  a demoed VCT and EHP, Scratch steeze and some gots. In the 100 and just under there are Prophet 100's, Seths, and a couple others. Seattle ski has or had some ARG's and other fat armadas too.

seattle ski is legit, brian relaly knows his shit and runs a good shop. i dont have much experience with the others except working for sturts for a bit, and they are more into the rich eastside crowd...

Alpine Hut in redmond is great. As someone mentioned, new ownership i think. Tons of newschool skis and gear. Great peeps too, superchill.. Highly reccomend, I just dropped off my skis to get mounted today.

You didn't look very hard. I saw a bunch of Hellbents, some ARGs, and others from Nordica and Volkl.

Well there are never really any newschool companies with booths there. Line had one a few years back, but thats about it. Realistically, there isn't much point, since most of the people that go there are just gomers (actually quite a few people that go there are really cool; had some great conversations over three days) and they dont really have much interest in newschool shit, so the the need for a booth cant be justiied, afterall, this isn't something like SIA or other WSSRA events, where shops are looking to buy stuff for the coming seasons. Not to mention the booths cost anywhere from $1250-$9000, so why spend that to put up a few skis? Who knows, maybe they don't care? Hell, there were some random ass booths there, and they had to spend the money, its not like they couldn't be there, anybody could have practically. Just a little devils advocate there.

And for fat skis, there were some fat skis there for sure, but thats not a very big market, especially here.

And speaking of pilchuck, there are some really cool people that work there (its just a few miles from me) and some really knowledgable ones too, but just not quite as exposed in the newschool realm. Also, pricey (in some instances). I remember walking in a few years ago, and their AR5s were something like $50 above MSRP. eeeeeeeee

Ya, they did have some fat skis, but not so many from newschool companies.  I didn't see the ARG's, but I did see the demo 4FRNTS, and a few others.  It was mostly gapers so that was kinda lame but w/e, it's a big market there.
I went to the swap part for about 5 minutes and looked on Saturday but didn't see anything I really wanted.  Seattle Ski seemed legit.  I might go down there and pick up a pair of Hestra Gloves, I dunno if anywhere else has them. 
I'm gonna get most my stuff at Pilchuck cause I know a few guys there and always seem to get really good deals when I spend a lot.
I like the Evo shop too but since I'm on Whidbey it's a longer drive and shit.

One thing that sucks is fucking sales tax.  Goddamnit.  Then again when you buy skis and bindings they usually mount for free or for next to nothing so that makes sales tax go away in a sense.
