Question about spray on waterproofing

So I got some nikwax tx.direct spray on shit... anyone know how waterproof that makes shit? Like compared to ratings like 5k/10k/etc... On a 5k jacket will it make it significantly better?

btw i'm not talking about reviving the waterproofing after washing, but attempting to add waterproofing to a new jacket...

Spray on waterproofing (or atleast my experience with it) makes the jacket unbreathable but pretty waterproof for about two weeks and then it begins to wearoff, so i would not recomend using it to water proof a jacket for a entire season

It's a water repellant you're spraying on. It's not going to affect any rating your jacket has. All it does it help the jacket to shed water that fall on it ("beading"). Wash your jacket first, that replenishes the water repellant finish, but after a few washes you should use spray on or wash in stuff.
