I tend to write more proper for some reason, I guess so it helps me in english. I really dont mind skipping puntuations when im on the computer. But i really cannot stand people who say "yo wud up yo, jon in da houuse hommieG" Even if you are black (haha sorry) it's still an insult to type that way.

I tend to write with better grammar and punctuation in intellectual threads. Like it will make me more credible or something.

I have made an effort to use better spelling and puncuation on this site, Especcially when debating someone. It makes your post look intelligent.
God knows I spelled like at least 2 words wrong in this post though.

I like when users type properly. I also like when they use correct spelling and grammar. I hate reading posts that are "i wuz wonderin wat u think is a beter ski" - it's just annoying.
Capitalization isn't as important. As long as it makes sense, and I can tell where one sentence ends and a new one starts.

I personally hate people who can't spell properly.
I am frequently pressing the backspace key, even its its informal, Im not perfect, but punctuation mistakes bother me. I just say a post, no punctuation, and it confused the shit out of me

the worst is the all-caps people. It's crazy but some older folks still just go to town with caps lock on, no matter the occasion. It's hard to take, I feel like I'm being yelled at.

naw, the worst is when girls used to type LikE tHiS. thank god it's stopped.
I use to use aim talk whenever i typed but it got me into a habit of typing like that the whole time, even for school stuff. so now, i try and type normal. it's sooo much better because before, I would just randomly shorten words out without thinking in a report or something and it got annoying to re-type stuff. so yeah, type good. i mean well.

I don't really mind not having punctuation, as long as it's not a paragraph, and capitalization isn't a big deal, even though I always capitalize I's. but typing like you're black, or have an accent, or the way you talk in unnecessary. it's like writing. there is no accent. and you look like a moron

i seem to over-use ellipses a lot. it seems to be more natural for reading out loud with an ellipses than with a period...kinda like that. because its not a new thought, just a break in the sentence. you can make sentences go on for ever and still make sense with this wonderful little tool...

Punctuation is KEY!
Creatively punctuating your posts is the only way to mimic conversation... I'm all over the triple dots... it just gives....
...something...
I feel its like posting William Shatner styles.
SPOCK! The... ship... is... out... of... CONTROL!
Punctuate for sure though. When you eventually get a job where you've got to send zillions of emails it will help you out to no end. Hell all of business has moved to using email for such a massive part of communication, that its a vital skill in the new world. I know that when I form a business relationship with someone solely over email, I judge them very closely on how well punctuated their emails are.
See now when your dad is like "Why are you wasting so much time on that stupid website?" You can answer:
"Dad, I'm not wasting time! I am practicing my digital communication skills and grammar for future use in big business. I mean come on do you still use the phone at work? How do you think people are going to communicate when I'm your age?"
That'll throw him for a loop. ;)

I think someone who can put forth their thoughts in a readable mannner has more credibility. If I have to decode what you typed, it must not have been that important or you would have taken the time to make it legible. Obviously there's quite a bit of slack in the case of NS where it's just a ski forum dominated by high school kids, but grammar is still important if you want someone to take your opinion seriously. For example, I won't even finish reading a post if it's a gigantic run-on mess of abbreviations with thoughts...seperated...by...unnecessary....punctuation or none at all cuz it duznt mater how i tipe as long az i get my piont akrosss becuz gramer is for FAGZ!

That is pretty awesome, I really read that with almost no problem at all.
I usually try to use proper spelling and punctuation. Periods and commas help to make it more like conversation as said above, and makes for easier reading as well. Spelling is just a good thing to always keep up on in general, so whenever I don't know for sure I look it up to add it to my vocab knowledge.

I tend to do my best with spelling and punctuation and grammar. It's natural for me, and take no extra time or thought.

I usually use proper spelling and grammar. except sometimes i don't use capital letters or something retarded like that.. but for the most part i put in my commas and apostrophes because it not only makes more sense to me, but to everyone else aswell.

yeah I try some times, i usually skip the " ' " in contractions just because I rarely ever use them. When making threads I use paragraphs to help explain myself etc... Oh and I am with bishop... i am all over the triple dots. Its like a comma, but a longer pause... haha.
