08 seths, ok so i looked on the tool bar and got some information but it wasnt that helpfull to me.
i am 5'4 and 105 pounds, and am considering 169 seths for an almountain/ pow ski this year. I dont know much about it and was wondering how soft they are because i want a pretty soft ski, and if anybody knows much about the "mini rocker" desing that would be great.

oh and i plan to ski about 70% pow and 30% park/groomers on them.

Not sure about the groomers, but the mini rocker should work well in the powder.

Oh, and apparently they run kinda long. But seeing as you're riding powder most of the time that should be okay.

id say try and pick up pa pair of last years 169s. basicaly the mini rocker is almost no camber, i havent skied them but when you press the skis together you can see alittle bit of rocker. i dont know how the mini rocker would affect turning, but the 07s have the camber and they rip, and they'r puuuuurple.

The seths are great on groomers and pow.  I rock the 179, 08 seths.  I think it run better with the mini rocker.  I enjoy them more than the 07 seths.  They are pretty soft also.  I use my seths for all-mountain skis, any condition.  There just sick.

"You will notice the differnce in junk snow for sure as well in powder.  It makes it easier, like having a longer tip.  So you don't get as caught up in the crusty conditions"-seth morrison, K2 massage boards.

"The Seth still has its versatility on the hard pack, slight tip flat from the rocker while pointing it, but not noticeable on hard pack turns.  The Seth ski enjoys the slush,crud,powder, variable snow with better turning response from the rocker since it helps ride over the texture of the snow that catches up on the tips and tails while exiting and entering the turn, while skiing specificly in crusted top layered snow"--Seth

thought 07 169s were purp, ah well, seths are deffinatly the sickest all around ski out there, and they have been for years. good choice

he rides a custom pair. if you look in skeeze his pair has the amount of rocker of the hellbent's. pretty crazy.

i rode the 169's back in april, mounted pretty standard... uhm, i thought they were incredibly fun, but they like to go straight.  not as easy to initiate a turn as some other skis.  but suuuuuper fun nonetheless.  they are pretty soft at the 169 and kil it pretty much everywhere.  as the ski gets bigger, they get stiffer, too.

The mini-rocker on the 189 (191,5 actual) gives you something like 130 effective edge.
Only dislike about the Seth for me is it's harder to ski switch then any other ski I ever used

Doubt it, I saw him at Loveland on Sunday and his skis looked THE SAME as mine.  If you compare the 07 and the 08 models they will look different.

k2 made a limited amount wiht more rocker, i doubt hes skiing those at loveland right now but when hes skiing pow he probably does

Seth skis the same 189s as you do, right off the retail rack. He told me himself on the Mammoth chairlift.

AS for the AKs some of the guys were riding, that was part of the test figuring how much rocker to put on the model that would become the Hellbent. We did that to Seths and AKs before we figured out how big we wanted the Hellbent.
And Seth does ski the same skis you do. (If you are on 189cm)  No race room models for him. 
To the original poster Benji, you should have fun on those 169's, it is a great ski. Seth was quoted above speaking of the bennefits, so I won't go back into that. Let me know how you like them.
