I have no problem paying it, but I would like to get it off my record since i don't want it to affect my insurance.

i have no idea about getting it off the record, but i've had friends who refuse to pay it and they get fucked. so just don't do that.

in most states in the US (I'm assuming you're from Indiana?) you can
ask the judge for a deferral, which means if you don't get a ticket for
another year you don't have to pay the ticket and it doesn't go on your
record. However, if you do get another ticket within a year, you have
to pay both tickets and they both go on your record. And you can only
be granted one deferral every seven years.
