Marker Jester Bindings?

Alright heres the deal I'm definitely buying new bindings this year.  So... I went into my local ski shop (aspen ski and board) and asked them what the best new bindings were for this season.   The dude I was working with suggested the Marker Jesters.  I found it hard to believe there could be a good freeskiing marker binding but he insisted they were amazing.  Anyhow I told him I needed to consult NS so any Input guys?

im guessing most people wont have experience with them yet, since they are a new model this year. that being said, they do seem legit. if you feel like taking a bit of a gamble (and deviating from the tried and true look/rossi/saloman) and have the extra money, i'd say give them a shot

Or they could turn out to be like the reactors...there is a scary thought.  I would say go with the bindings that have already been proven in the field. Give it another year to try the new markers. I could be completely wrong espacially since I have never ridden on markers before.

What is your height, weight, riding level...?
FKS if you can get a pair, I have always ridden salomons and have never had problems and I have the new STH 12's. Looks?

i held them at one of the shops around here. theyre pretty cool. with the exposed spring on the heelpice and stuff. but they are really lifted from a ski.

I'm 5'10" 145lb and I guess you could say im an advanced skiier, the reason im getting new bindings is because my old ones couldn't hold me in.   and yea ive only heard good things about those STH 12's

they look cool to me and but i wouldnt buy them unless you kno someone who has ridden them try to figure out if anyone at the shop has ridden them and get there input

an advanced skiier for Ohio that is.  I just want something that when I coming up to a 50 ft table top I can feel confident that im not gonna lose a ski on the landing.

i just proformed mine today for 170. Pretty pumed. But i was talking w/ the marker rep, and there are a couple of big name guys that have been riding them from the begining of the idea. They are really rider tested im thjinkin. Also there are rumors flying that armada, liberty and some other compaines may be doing exclusive deals with the skis.

get a salomon, look (called dynastar now) or rossignol binding from 14din or 16din and up

or even get a turntable binding

whoa dude! haha, i work there! sweet to see the shop mentioned on the main threads. whod you talk to? anyway, the jesters are incredibly sick binders. they are built so well. its not hollow pastic like reactors, but heavily reinforced solid chunks of plastic and metal. totally different than other markers. the only downfall i see with them is they are a tad tall off the top of the ski, but thats minimal. they are light as hell too. if you did wanna do something else, the STH series would be good.

i personally ski the turntable heeled bindings exclusively, but thats because im super picky and like the feel of having the mounting screws underfoot, and am accustomed to their release style. if i were to purchase new bindings, the markers would defiantly be on the top of my list.

Sorry to jack the thread but since they are higher off the ski than other bindings they wouldn't be as good for park but they would be good in powder, and whatnot right.  I'm thinking of putting them on some bacons using mostly for bc, pow, cliffs, and whatnot, but then the occasional groomer and shit.

Alot of ppl are wondering if they are gonna be good, or another 1st season bomb. If you check the marker website is shows mahra, pep, pollard, colby west, dash, and dylan hood as athletes. Im guessing they have been rider tested to the max!

We got them in this week and they seem a lot mre solid than I thought they'd be. But like people have said, it's their first year so personally I wouldn't risk it yet. Zero ramp on them though, which could be good.

i got a chance to demo them last season, but they were the prototype model, still they were sick, they didn't allow as much flex as the tyrollia super light, which was nicer to have a firmer ride, i'd say that if anything they improved the binding from what i rode on, so go with them, they're sick, i'm saving for next years model

The Volkl rep was showing us the Duke and Jester and said zero ramp. I'll measure to check though.
