Alright, so im a sr, im 18 years old and i drink often. My parents know i've drank before and i told them a shitload of stories from sr week last year that i went to and how i got plastered and all this. I still hide my alcohol anyway, just because. So they found 2 handles and 4 water bottles full in a backpack in my car the other day and now apparently i'm in troube? they haven't talked to me about it yet, any good arguments that i can get out of getting in trouble?

"if i can go away and fight other countries at war, i believe i am old enough to drink" ive used that several times there really is no counter argument to that.

Why the hell are they in your car anyways, looking through your stuff? I'd be pissed about that.
Also, if your parents are uptight about alcohol, there isn't much you can do , but wait.

if they found it in your car, than their arguement is going to be that you were drinking in driving, and i can see why i would want my kid not doing that, they probably are not taht suprized that you drink, but the amount they found is a little over the top too, how many kids was this for?

i never drank in high school but i did plenty once i moved to college. if my parents ever gave me trouble about drinking i would just say..."remember what you guys did when you were teenagers in the 60's and in college in the 70's?" eeeexxaactly.
then i'd reassure them that i'm responsible and not an idiot.

Wait... you're 18 and your parents can still ground you?
Dude. Say that although you are 18, you are mentally mature enough to handle alcohol responsibly (despite what they may think :P). Bring up the fact that experience with something from a young age will allow them to be more responsible with it in the future. You can't learn anything if you never go wrong. A child who never falls and hurts himself will never learn that he will get hurt doing reckless things. Frenchies, although you may hate them, are brought up drinking alcohol from a young age. The French don't have an underage drinking problem, purely because they don't see it as something to be abused, whereas Americans (I'm generalizing here) and the British, among others, do.

If you're old enough to drive a car, vote and go to war, you should be old enough to drink
