but am i right the smart way, and the way youre guaranteed you wont throw away your life to drugs is to just simply NOT do drugs?
No not only in Cali. They've been operating in Vancouver for 4 years and like the post above me reads, with initially positive results.
Regardless of the healthcare system I beleive it to be beneficial. If you think about it it allows the addicts to consult with a trained physician and hear the practical information they should be hearing straight from the horse's mouth rather then relying on the information freom general discourse, which is to say what they know or hear from other people or by their own experiances. In Canada where waiting lines and priority treatment are the problems it gives these addicts the medium to reach out. Similarily in The U.S. where healthcare is privatized it allows the same thing.
To call this a bad idea makes no sense to me. Addicts are people like you and me. You can view them two ways: either as a burden on society in which case the safe injection sites keeps them out of the emergency ward, or you can view them like I prefer to, as patients who require and should be extended, the same level of attention as the rest of society.
