A quick word on blocking ads

I just started learning adobe premier and it seems awesome. My only problem is that it seems to be hard to manage your files. Basically what im getting at is that i was wondering if there is a way to import a video file and have it broken up into clips in such a way that windows movie maker does. If anyone knows i'd appreciate it. thanks.
