Help a brother out

Yo guys,  so i'm trying to get a freeskiing team setup here at RIT, but first i need to write a proposal, so i'm turning to you guys for a little help.  Heres a few questions for you guys:

1.  How would the institution benefit from having a freestyle ski team?

2.  What are the negative to having the team

3.  How would money be raised

Or just throw in anything that you think will provide a persuasive arguement to get the team established. 

Also, if you are on a college ski team id appreciate it if i could get some info about how you guys run it and how everything is paid for and how the team came about in the firstplace.

yo man i go to RIT haha... i can't wait to ski. i just got seven sunny days. its epic

i wanna find people who are good at skiing that i can ride with so hit me!

but to answert your questions i dunno:

2: student injury...i guess
3: ski-comps at the red barn and sell hot- cocoa for $1... jea boy

we can also make a film and promote on RIT TV (i got an hd camcorder and im going into film)

Ok, let me rephrase this a bit.  I'm currently writing a paper proposing that my college puts together a school sponsored freestyle ski team, and for this paper i need some help from the masses  So i was wondering what youre opinions were on a few different issues

1. How a freestyle ski team would benefit a college

2.  What type of problems might a college face if it were to establish a freestyle team

3.  What some possible methods for fundraising could be.

Also, i would especially appreciate any input from people currently on teams at other colleges as to what they like/dont like about it.  And what i should propose to make it as rad as possible while still being practical.

Here's the thing, as much as I'd like to see you get what you want, a sponsored ski team at a School in Rochester, NY with a rather passive-in general ski community, if much of one at all, will not benefit the school in any way at all.

Based on a quick web-search, RIT has a ski-club which gives you reduced ticket prices to Bristol and transportation to and from there.

Rochester just does not have enough of a skiing population for it to benefit RIT to sponsor freeskiers aside from their traditional ski club.
