at first glance i know it seems kinda dumb, i mean Ludacris in a serious movie? come on haha
but it works.

Its a deep thinking movie i guess from 2005 but ive never even heard of it till last year when my teacher showed it in class, and it was just on FX.
Its so well written and truly captures life as we know it. The word "riveting" is thrown around a lot in movie trailers and reviews but this definitely deserves that word. Just for the fact that the movie will have you going through every emotion you can think of. Call me pussy or a faggot but for real i had chills for pretty much 80% of the movie. If you watch this movie and at the end feel absolutely nothing, i pity you.
spend the 5 dollars or whatever it is to rent it, download it, whatever.

the sad thing is that people think the movie is only about racism.


good movie, thanks for sharing, but im sure a lot of people have already seen it.

now if you're thinking about the other movie called crash, which could be classified as a soft core porn movie that shows people that get off to car crashes then yes you need to watch it.

yea, racism is the engine used to show how our everyday interactions with strangers can affect their lives down the road.

ie. that 5 dollar bill you gave to the homeless guy that made you feel good causes him to finally be able to afford that heroin which causes him to OD where then a small kid finds the homeless guys rotting body which scars him for life.  that sort of thing. yaddadamean?

Its a great movie and if you havn't seen it you should watch it.  However it doesn't cover "every single aspect of human life" haha.

But seriously, its a good film.

it kind of does. like whattheshit said above, human interaction is a complex system.  theres some hidden meanings and cryptic messages, things like that. maybe i just think too far into things

its a good movie, well done, but not something i was really entertained by. like, not that watching the condemned or resident evil are the only movies that are entertaining (with blood, action, and funny shit or whatever). its more of like a view of society and i don't wanna watch something like that in a movie.

Is a very good movie, but its not genius. It deals with very real, and accessible issues but never really challenges the intellect, which constitutes my one qualm.

I think you might be, heh.  There may be some hidden meanings and whatnot, but like you said human interaction is a complex system and this movies certainly does not explain every aspect of it.

I found American History X to be a MUCH more effective film than Crash.  The soundtrack to Crash was failing, and I believe that a powerful soundtrack can add to a movie, and a failing one can really take away.  Anyone seen Babel?  Or Blood Diamond?  Hotel Ruwanda (sp)?  Oh, there's another good one, City of God (foriegn film).  Those were also dealing with extremely heavy and serious matters going on in the world today, not just Los Angeles.  I have to say I wasn't a fan of the acting - I think that the movie could have been much more developed and a better cast would have made it better as well.

Crash was good.. but it was just a wee bit too hollywood. They made it appealing to a larger scale audience, and it was effective...

still, i've found many more movies to be far more effective as far as getting the point accross.

still, I liked Crash. 4/5.
