My thought on other skiers talking to me about skiing...

I used to be all intense on skiing, and would like to talk about it all the time. Then I realized that most people dont give a shit. 3 years and 2 jobs in skiing stores later, I also don't give a shit about what trick you did last year, how big the cliff you dropped was, or have fast you were going down that chute. Pics or it didnt happen, ahaha jk but really, does anyone else get tired of this nonsense? I just really enjoy skiing, and im sure everyone else does on here but it doesnt mean that's all you have to talk about. It's just cause i've met some people like this and my roomate is like this also and i dont care AT ALL. anyone?

yea man thats a good point, when you look at your friends only a small portion of them probably ski, so to improve your social skills you should try to talk about other shit cause they couldnt give two shits about it. The other thing is when you think about it and cant do it you get pissed off and really wanna go so when people talk about it in the summer i get pissed cause thats the last thing i want to think about cause i want to go skiing so badly.

ahaha yea man,  i think you might be right, i might have just grown out of that 'stoked 24/7' attitude on skiing usually im just stoked when im actually doing it now... maybe a lot of you guys just dont feel this way cause most of you are like 16? cause i knew i felt that way when i was 15/16

i enjoy talking about it but i hate talking about it with people i dont know. i always assume they're a gaper, cuz they dont know as much as me, or a moron, cuz they talk too much about riding and not enough about topics that matter.

i think its like any other story, if its a good one then go ahead, if you're just talking about what you can do cuz its the off season and you are drunk, well thats a different problem.

yep you can get burned out of skiing, thats what happened to me. just tired of the same old bullshit over and over again.

mostly about park and how they did this trick on this feature and nobody cares.

just ski cause you enjoy it, not to claim to people about how great you are at it and how much you love doing 270's onto rails. thats when I tell them I gotta go talk to my friend Karen Lotts.
