Need Help Syncing My Phone Via USB

I have a Verizon LG-X6100 cell phone and just got a USB cable for it. Only problem is that I can not get it to work. The cable came with a CD with the drivers and they will install fine, but when I try to access it, it doesn't appear at all. I don't know if my issue is with my phone settings or if the drivers don't work all together.Anyone have any ideas?

if you are using vista, you're probably fucked.
XP is fine with me, and it reads my phone through its USB cable. vista blows.

the one that came on the phone when i got it...where can i even dl the updates? and i am using xp
