Replying to When you buy boots...
With most companies putting out both regular and freeride versions of most of their shells (for nordica, ignition has the same shell as the best, blower as the doberman. salomon has the gun version of the falcon and the foil version of the impact), do you tend to favor the freeride version of the two?
The reason i ask, i tried the impacts on and am in love with the fit, but i want the shock absorption footboard. i just cant decide if its worth going with the lower flex index and cheaper liner of the gun just for that. i'm a big guy, 6'5, 210, and crush most boots, so i cant decide. any advice? is it possible to change out the footboard? I'm on the east coast and my landings dont have much in the way of cushioning, ice just isnt that soft,
