ANOTHER Ski Thread (sorry)

Sorry about making another one of these but I need more advice. I have narrowed my 2 skis down to the Anthem or the Invader. If I get either it will be in 178. I am 5 9 122 pounds and ski the Westcoast. I ski at a small hill, with a small park and small jumps. Nothing over 50'. I occasionally go to Whistler where they have the bigger jibs and jumps. I will be skiing 70% park, 20% big mountain/pow (if we get some fresh) and 10% groomers in between park runs. The invaders are more wallet friendly, but the Anthem's may be a tiny bit better for the 20% pow. What ski is my ski?

I would say Anthem. After skiing the Invaders, they kinda suck outside of park. With the amount of ridding you will do, the anthem will suit you better.

2000th POST!!!!!!
Anyways, since I am not that heavy, will the 1cm width difference make a difference in how well I float in the pow? I am only 122 pounds...

yes because you have to remember that it is all about surface area. its one centimeter along almost the whole length of the ski. you also have to realize that that one centimeter as well over 10% of surface area.

That is true. I would still say the Anthem just for the extra cm of girth on tip/tail and waist.
Whats the price difference.

$120 at the local store. And I am in Canada so I can't order them off an internet site because they won't ship to Canada.

Also true. Thats why the anthem is a better fit.

I agree with the above reccomendations, Anthems.
Also, you've gotta stop cahnging your name so often. Its getting really confusing. Im not being rude, im just stating that its getting really hard to keep track of you!
Have you made your decisions on the bindings? For your anthems, I would say Z10's, or Px12's.

I've decided on Axials/PX12's.
And sorry about the name changes, that was the final one forever.

Sluggishness on rails. Will this be an issue for me on rails with Anthems? I'd like to be able to switch up and spin on/off.

okay, you have officially taken this a step too far.Â
slugishness on rails? what the hell is that?
you could spin on/off or switch up with ski blades or two fucking snowboards strapped to your feet...
i think the better question would be about your ability, not if these skis will permit you to spin on/off rails....

Well for someone my size, the wider skis are, the heavier they are, making them harder to move around and making me less agile on my skis...

You're overthinking. If you wand agility, get JO Pro's. If you want all mtn preformance, get Scratches/Ar6's, if you want park skis, get invaders. There is going to be alot of give/take with skis. You cant have the ENTIRE package in one ski.

I think in the end of all this I will go for Invaders. I ski at an almost alike small mountain to Eastcoast except I am on the Westcoast. Same idea though, small jumps, small rails, small pow days. I go up to Whistler maybe 20 days a year and out of those 20, I would say 5 or so are pow days. Invaders seem like my ski. Any last remarks?

I would seriously go with the anthems, especially since you go to whistler 20 days a year,
they will be better in all mountain condtions and pow, and they won't be quite as noodly as the invader.

I skied lines for 2 years and id say to go with the anthems , the invaders are good dont get me wrong but for that little bit you going to be out of the park the anthems will be better , Good Luck and Happy ski season

What bout the Volkl Walls? What are they like compared to the Anthem. Stiffer, softer? Durability?

stiffer, heavier, but much more durable thanks to vertical sidewalls. get the anthems, and stop over thinking it. im on the ice coast and would still ski the anthems over the invaders (oh wait, i am)

Anthems are a little wider so theyll handle good outside of park
