i spent 50 bucks on pvs pipe and a bunch of different shit. made a reeeally sick one. could never find the right combination of gas and air to make it launch.

ya i was there we had some problems with the ignition of the cannon cuz we had this mad shitty lighter. but when it went it went for a solid 100+ yards. toph is buying a grill ignitor which i think will make this thing soooooo beastly so all we have to do is push a button and b o o m.

my friend made one out of steel piping and used.... i think it was acetone or some that started with an a. they pumped it in and had an igniter.  they said the potato just disappeared. but fuck potatoes i've always wanted to make a pumpkin cannon. use black powder or something like that. thatd be so sick.

dont bother with the hairspray type. get yourself a nice tank for a resevoir and a quick release valve and a bike pump. 60 psi will make em fly pretty good

i made a tiny one thats powered on lighter fluid and the barrel is a pen....it can shoot spitballs so hard that from like 10 feet away they leave bruises

^ ya cept to this day I haven't seen one as good as mine. We've recorded a shot just under (yards) a mile! How dope is that?!? It's strong as fuck though! The kick is so hard, we put it in the back of an old 1965 stingray, put the car in neutral, and fired off the cannon - the kick was so hard it pushed the car down the street!

this is just the prototype of what will come. me and toph are building the shit later that going to be a fucking cannon. hopefully weel be able to find a material to withstand the propulsion of butane lighter fluid, which will be "the juice". had some probs with the ignitition, so toph bought a grill ignitor, so all we have to do is push a button and B O O M

playing paintball one time and a kid murdered me from about 200yards with one. i was standing on a hill  and he spotted me in his red-dot and let lose 1200 paintballs in my general direction. this thing ran off of 9oz. of c02 (per shot) and had an eight foot long barrel made of something simmular to pvc.
that hurt like a bitch.

1200 paintballs x 9 oz a shot = 10800 oz of co2 thats a hell of a lot of co2 which is why i dont believe this story at all. and at that pressure a paintball would explode not to mention a paintball is not that accurate. cause its just a ball with a seam in the middle and no rifling

unscrew the cap and spray in the hairspray but try not to get it on the ignitor or it wont wrk and thje longer your barrel the faster/farther itll go and neve use gasoline itll blow the whole thing up or any other propellent likie theat hairspray is the ebst and kind will work

mine is a 1.75 ft barrel but with a 4ft itll go 200+ yds (mine goes 100)


^ ya but i dont have a co2 tank or pressure regulator or any of those things or i would deffffff make a pneumatic they are def better

i was researching how to make them and came upon m,aking a pea shoter just get a real skinny barell like less than a ft adn get a baloon and put it on the end then electrical tape it all the way to the other end ad put some thing in pull thebaloon  back and it will flu mad fast

What we use on ours instead of a combustion chamber as shown in your pic, is (we have 2) either:
1. Just use some larger pipe at the bottom, rather than having a t-shape...

2. This one works the best... Use a propane tank with a line attached to the cannon, and slowly vent the appropriate amount of propane into the canon. This allows for a much faster R.O.F.

ha we have made like 5, they are the most fun thing ever!!!  we made a small like mabye 3 feet long we can shoot off our bikes, and the best one we ever made was about 9 feet long one using compressed air.  we shot a broom out of it and it went about 200 yards to the other side of the neighborhood,  it was hilarious seeing this 4 foot long broom flying like 100 feet up in the air across our neighborhood, it was pretty sweet.   then it blew up one time when we were using it cause we pumped way too much air into it,  it fucked up my friends hand and cut me.  
and there are so many things you can shoot out of it, like flaming towels, any fruit, poop, bb's, water, rocks, sand/dirt. 
the most fun kind we ever made are the hairspray ones, they arent as powerfull as the compressed air ones, but they are so easy and fast to use, you can do like 3 shots a minuite where an air powered one takes like 2 minuites a shot and its way hard to carry around.
its such an awesome feeling knowing what damage you can do from 300 yards away where your not even visible.

But seriously, completely fun and a great way to blow your head off. I would recommend a combustion model one if you want instant gratification. Air compressed ones are more durable, but are complicated, and liable to explode if you arent so careful with the pressure... like I was.

Also, the PVC glue fumes are flammable, so watch out for those test fires after you've set the pieces together... eyebrows.

haha yeah my friend singed off like the front half of his head hair from one,  so it was normal length then like 2 inches past the forehead was almost bald.  and he is fat so it looked extra funny.

i almost did that today i was checking to see if it would light and i had my face infront of it AND MY BUDDY (ICEFIRE) G oes dont look into it and as soona s i look away it shoots a 1ft long flame olut it would been teh same thing

i didnt read every post of this thread, but my buddy made a fuckin mean one. it launched whole potatoes a long fuckin ways. he lives a block or so from the public highschool, and every luch time he would lunch whole pottoes into the highschool courtyard. it was awesome.

no it's not... you have a propane tank on the ground, with a length of tube from it to the combustion chambre in the back of the cannon. You put the projectile into the barrel, and make sure it's sealed (this allows for much better efficiency with the combustion fuel. You then open a valve on the propane tank, and open a valve at the other end of the tube, and vent in the appropriate amount of propane. You then seal both valves, and disconnect the propane tank from the cannon. Thne fire away!!!
