Just wanted to post this on here in case anyone is interested, although I know a few probably already know about it. The U of M ski club is going to Big Sky this winter, January 5th-12th. $550 for bus transportation, 4 days riding, 6 days/5 nights lodging in nice townhomes, $385 w/o transportation. To go you do have to join the club ($20) but you don't have to be student at the U or a student at all, you just have to be 18 (tour company's rule, not ours). for more info post here or email ski@sscumn.org

sounds like a really good deal if you could get some friends to go
i went to big sky last year the 5 to the 9th of january and they were still selling early season reduced price tickets because of the lack of snow
hopefully more snow's coming this year

Yes, hopefully. We went to Steamboat last year that time, and although everything was open and mostly covered, it could have been much better.
No, it doesn't cover food/drinks/etc. I've done it on less than $150 though. You could for sure do it for cheaper if you were dedicated. The town homes have kitchens, so you can cook your own food=save $$.

mnjib, we can maybe work something out. it might have to be a few weeks before I can give you a real answer though, is that allright? we can room as many people as possible, but the number of people we take on the bus is limited. there's about 55 seats on the bus, and we pay for the whole bus, meaning we pay for each and every seat that isn't filled. there's usually a few final spots on the bus that we struggle to fill. so, as we get closer to the deadlines I can give you a final answer, and it will probably be yes.
by the way, the condos hold 8 people, so try and work around that. a few more or less is no problem, you'll just be split up/have other people in your room.
also, the $100 deposit is due on November 7th now.

Hi all, just a reminder that the $100 deposit is due by Nov. 7th, that's next week, if you want to go on the trip. There is still a bunch of room left, but we have to lock in our number after the 7th, so you're shit out of luck if you wait too long.
We're also doing an overnighter at Welch on Dec. 7th. We'll have $21 tickets for Friday the 7th, and $31 tickets for the 8th if you don't have a pass. If you want to get the cheap tickets or stay the night, I have to ask that you join the club, which is $20, but you'll also get a free t-shirt (omg). But if you just want to come hang out and drink with us on that Friday, it's the standard $5 a cup.
All times are Eastern (-5)
