Replying to Junior Paper Topic

So this year I have to write a big research paper on anything I want. It has to be something interesting that I know nothing about, but would be fun to research. So pretty much most things that are ski-related are out of the question. So if anyone has any ideas about something that they want to know more about or that would be an interesting topic any help would be appreciated.

I'm thinking of writing about Atlantis or Quantum Physics/Superstring theory and its application in everyday life. Any help would be most appreciated.
