RubberSoulhasn't anyone asked pep or andy about the runs? honestly i bet it was flowy and shit but, especially nowadays, i think itd probably be pretty underwhelming after all the build up
i know that's sorta sacrilegious to say 'round these here parts, but you know..
tacobellslayeryeah you're looking at it wrong
jensenIt was so underwellming when it happened that it was overwellming. That was the whole point. It was a bunch of zero spins, and floaty mellow spins on Hellbents. Basically like giving a big "F you" to the x-games.

Mr.BishopSo wrong it hurts.
Mr.BishopI defend my position to the core because frankly for anyone who has played Amped 2, you will know that a fucking video game can score style really high using only math, because it treats slow smooth motion as a multiplier vs. only one part of the score.
.[sanhedrin].Amped 2 might be the best video game I have ever played. I still play it fairly regularly.
VANULARI remember them pep does a sick right cork five opp blunt in a grey puffy
Mr.BishopSo wrong it hurts.
I also want to finally publicly claim responsibility for those guys being there.
I was on the X-games selection committee for a few years, and the first time they had me they said "We want to take everything into account - movie segments, contest results, style, tech tricks - everything"
I was like "Guys, I think I'm going to really fuck up your selection process, because I have a very strong opinion about what makes the best skier."
My votes were extremely high for Pep, Pollard and Andy. My logic was that I felt that if you were judging skill, I completely believe that it takes every ounce as much skill to do a super stylish cab 3 as it does to do a big cab 10 (which was a big trick then). So I made my voice heard.
Pep and Andy made it into X that year. I think a lot of the athletes were pretty angry, and I eventually fired myself from the committee and suggested that they just start choosing everyone from competition results instead of trying to have true, deep, slow, smooth style count.
I defend my position to the core because frankly for anyone who has played Amped 2, you will know that a fucking video game can score style really high using only math, because it treats slow smooth motion as a multiplier vs. only one part of the score.
