Replying to Blackwater
These guys are ridiculous.
Ever since that big shootout a couple weeks ago when they killed a bunch of civilians, all kinds of dumb shit has come to the surface about how badly they run their organization.
Just today they released a transcript from the cockpit recorder of a plane that a Blackwater pilot flew into the side of a canyon in 2005. Everyone aboard died, including 3 U.S. soldiers en-route to redeployment. On the recorder, you can hear the co-pilot yelling "dude! You're just like an X-wing pilot!" followed by "FUCKING RIGHT DUDE! They would't be paying me so much if they knew how much fucking FUN this is!"
He slammed into the canyon 2 or 3 minutes later.
Since the investigations into their organization has started, some dumbshit incident like this seems to crop up every couple of days. I'm not TOTALLY dumping on private military contractors, but it seems like Blackwater in particular plays way too fast and loose. Their upper management doesn't seem competent, and their operatives are a bunch of trigger happy lunatics who act outside of the rules of engagement. While this might be an effective way to run a counter-terrorist campaign since THEY don't operate within the laws of war either, but they shouldn't be acting like this if they're representing the United States. We definitely don't need to look any worse than we already do these days.
My point is that if our government is going to let private armies exist within our borders, we should regulate them better than we are at the moment. Furthermore, if we're going to hand them government contracts to enter a war zone and do our dirty work, we should be keeping better fucking tabs on them.
Further "reasearch": Youtube search "blackwater" for some videos of crazy yahoos on rooftops plinking people and yelling "yee haw!" You'll see what I'm talking about.
