BC Conditions at Loveland & Berthoud Passes?

Hey,
Does anyone know how the backcountry conditions up at Loveland Pass and Berthoud Pass have been looking? Enough snow for a few sketchy runs way up high above the trees on the rock skis? Considering making the 40-minute or so drive up there from Golden and just seeing how the base is looking, but didn't want to bother if it's still super thin and gnarly even for rock ski's. Seems like we need a few real good storms to establish a more solid base in these next few weeks; where are the epic early-early season dumps like we had Last October!?! :) Anways just seeing if anybody up in summit county knows how the high Bc is shapin' up.
Peace,
Phil.

I would wait for a GOOD snow storm. It was nice but seems to be melting off. Just not worth taking the chance in getting hurt this early in the season. Rumor has it that A-Basin's ribon of death might open this weekend, I am not too how true it is but that's the word.

St. Mary’s is probably your best bet. I have skied it a few times this summer… nothing special but better then sitting on your ass thinking about snow… I see you go to Mines… hopefully A-basin will be open for fall break
