So the provincial elections are coming up. And I heard John Tory is running in Toronto for his seat in the house. But theres no way in hell the conservatives will win toronto (unfortunately). So Im wondering...:
*What happens if the person running for premier doesn't even win his own riding? *
I dont want to get into some gay ass politics debate, im just wondering what happens if he doesnt even win his own seat? Is he gaurenteed a seat either way.
Thanks.

they usually have the main candidate in a riding thats super supportive of his party so maybe that particular part of toronto is uber conservative

One, he almost always wins his riding. Two, it's possible for someone to give up their seat to him (I think, I don't know anything about Ontario election law)... it's happened in parliament.
