So he'd be right then... right? Becuase zero doesn't have a value, so it is technically nothing. So if you devide anything by zero you get nothing... or zero.
Any positive number divided by 0 is positive infinity. Any negative number divided by 0 is negative infinity. Zero divided by zero can be any possible number. Infinity minus or divided by infinity can also be any possible number.
It actually has a lot more to do with what happens as a number approaches 0. So as your dividing by smaller and smaller numbers the answer gets larger and larger. Therefore you can conclude the when you divide by 0 you get infinity.
well mostly some of us are right and the other half are just retarded. when you divide by zero what you get depends on what youre doing. when youre looking for rise over run (slope) anything over zero equals undefined meaning the line is straight up and down. if youre doing limits its what that one chick said about the infinity thing. there are more situations where zero is on the bottom so youre teacher by avoiding youre question basically saved you like a 3-4 year answer
