Your on your own on Vail pass, Just like loveland pass. You briong the sled, skis and everything you wouls need for backcountry. You can ski anything, anywhere. Just be careful, there is some crazy but fun stuff out there. I hike it a lot up there, I am too lazy to go out and buy a sled....lol.
ya i dont have a sled either but i was just wondering about that. i guess im gonna have to hike then haha but i dont care if its just for a little booter or something
They do have like snowmobile tour companys that go up there, but it's all a group thing and you wont be able to ski down. Some kind of insurance thing that the company has, I have tried to contact a few and they wont do it.
ugh. "Vail Backcountry Tours" runs a snowcat to the top of the pass all the time, weekends. Don't hike, unles you want to hike all day, then get stuck in deep snow somewhere. For a fee you can hitch a ride behind my sled when we go out for a jibij shoot.
There are sleds out all over Vail Pass. All my friends take sleds out
on Vail Pass. Go there on a Saturday or a Sunday and tell me how many
sleds you see out there. Vail Pass is a rec area and sleds ARE allowed.
If you still thing otherwise call the National Forest Service, they will back up what I am saying.
