it worked for me, so i dont know...
anywho, the plan looks pretty decent. It's good to see utilization of a permit.
It's prety interesting opening up some of that stuff on the backside east of Southern to gladed skiing, but keeping it hike-only access (its a bit of a hike to the proposed new east boundary however), and also the new lift east of big chief. Those trees are fun, but so dense at times that skiing is difficult. Decent terrain. This chair seems most practical; direct access from the parking lot (reminds me of something like silver fir), good terrain acces, and allows for western expansion on the north side east of chief bowl (some good shit up there). Big fan basically.
I don't really see the point of the the katz chairlift. Perhaps that is to reduce crowd size from the base, or maybe to recycle an old lift, but still, chief has pretty good access to that as of now.
Grace lakes is a neet place to go when thee is some fresh. Its short, but sweet, but having a lift there would be money. The shit gets tracked out so fast and since it is relatively short that a chair there seems relevant.
Access to the other BC spots, such as tunnel creek/gemeni pass/electric wu seems just the same. And that's a good thing.
But this is just a master development plan. If we see any of this stuff at all, it'll probably be a good while.

likewise with brooks.
at least those who drafted the plan are in tune with reality a bit.
they said stuff like "Provide snowmaking to the super pipe and other freestyle features near the base area," amongst other intriguing things.

I read quite a bit of that plan and there's a couple parts that's pretty interesting like:
Five main ski trails and a variety of "park like" gladed areas have been proposed to be added to the grace lake pod.
Also like the thinning of trees and return route to southern cross form highland bowl. Theres deffinatly some more good things in this plan but some stuff like the Katz chair need to be looked at better. I say no new lift there just thin some trees in shims and call it good.

i say no katz lift too, seems like a waste to stuff already accessable, and will just have people cutting into the bottom of wild katz, which is lame, cause the great thing about that run is the 20 foot hike is a gaper deterent.

But in the written report, it says the original master plan included potential development for 19 lifts, but only three actually went through.
So maybe thats a grim reminder of how unlikely some of this may be, not to mention it is for a decade or more of growth.
But some of the points they brought up for expansion seemed reasonable to say the least.

in the summer plans, mountain biking would make a lot of sense but I don't think that scenic chairlift rides would, It works at whistler but there you have a large amount of turests who are right there that allready came for the golf or some other thing, I doubt you would find people that would be willing to drive an hour+ to ride a chair lift, and the views at whistler are 10x that of those from stevens, And Face it summer chairlift rides did not work out for crystal and they have views of rainier.
And it is haling at my house right now.
