freeheel (telemark)

does anybody here freeheel ski? i was just watchin core culture on fox sports net and they had freeheel skiing. it was pretty sweet, they were throwing misty 7's and some fronts and backs and even did some rails. i thought it was pretty sweet.

never done it. i bet it takes mucho skill to do, but i wouldnt want to do it, tricks look so ugly with the skis shaking around and shit.

yeah thats stuff is pretty crazy, I thought they just used those bindings to hike into the backcountry, then they could snap them back in place for regular skiing. I might be wrong though.

skifreak915- telemarking is its own sport...get your head out of your ass (or the park). Granted they do have bindings that are made for hiking and then clicking down, called randonee, 'free-heeling' is its own sport. teleing is deffinately something you should try sometime. its not that hard to get down if your a good skier - a couple runs or so. Its really good for your balance too. not something i would want to do all year but its worth renting some shit and doing it for a day

Tele is fun, its hard bt if your a good skier you should be able to pick it up pretty quick. To get really good takes some practice though.

i tele and its real good, landing switch isn't that hard on jumps, tricky on rails, but its just like alpine in the park except we can't nosepress

do lunges if you wanan get beter, same type o motion, And hiking with freheeled skis and skiing down reugularly you use touring bindings for, not eles, well you could but tour bindings work better

i've done it a few times. the first time i got off the lift and fell on my face. haha it was hard for me the first time to control the skis
