Anyone have one or know anyone that has one? wondering how the interface for it is or if its just like the iphone without the phone capabalities. I saw how it was pretty loaded....just wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with it
It is the same user interface as the iPhone. It doesn't have the phone or bluetooth but it still has wifi so you can go online. I've only played with it at the apple store but its pretty awesome. I'll probably be purchasing one shortly.
It is more scratch resistant than the iPods before it. It is the same surface as the iPhone which is supposed to be scratch resistant. I think its because its made of glass instead of plastic or something.
it won't work because it's a fucking touch interface, which means for song changes you have to pull it out and take off your gloves and finger touch it. it's way too complicated and in no way convenient. but of course everyone loves it because it's apple and there software is supposedly evidence of christ.
apple is full of Death Eater faggots. innovative? fuck that shit, steve jobs can suck my dick and so can nomensteven while he's down there sucking off jobs
You realize Apple doesnt create products that are intended to be used while skiing you dumbass. You can't expect everything to revolove around YOUR activities. Obviously the new ipods arent meant for fucking winter weather, and apple sure as hell doesnt give a fuck if you're wearing gloves or not. Honestly how stupid can you be? How many other wifi touch screen audio, video, browsing devices are out there? Hardly any. You wonder why apple nearly monopolizes the electronic world, but its simple. They make a product that the general public agrees with, not some annoying kid on newschoolers who gets mad that his Ipod froze because he left it in his pocket while skiing.
read between the lines, you Down Syndrome piece of shit. actually you don't have to, i said it plain and simple. when i say they're not convenient to use, i mean they're not convenient to use. that means for most general things, not just skiing, but running, lifting, shooting hoops, or basically any athletic activity. i guess it suits your fat, dumb ass fine though if all you want to do is sit and stare at a wall and touch your touch ipod. kill yourself
Honestly dude, you should stop complaining about shit. If you don't like it, get over it. The product wouldn't sell if people didn't fucking like it. And who the fuck is going to take an ipod touch running? Most people arent the fucking retarded. Have you ever heard of an Ipod shuffle? Don't say that Apple doesnt make a "convenient" product when the make probably the best shit out there.
honestly, what the fuck is flappy talking about. not only are they PRCTICAL in so many ways (loading anything on them, music , pictures, videos, anything..) but the design of em, the simplicity. all of their shit is amazing.
they're soo scratch resistant its not even funny, i saw a guy take keys and a razor blade to em and nothing happened, of course there would be micro scratches on them, but they cant be seen. I would've like the have seen the memory a bit higher, but oh well, its still a really good product.
Yeah a bigger memory would be nice. Their flash memory enables them to be so thin and convenient and at the moment they dont have flash chips to support more memory...when they become available I am sure Apple will respond with bigger memory in their iphone/itouch products....
Im sure the thing has a hold button and shuffle capabilities so you can set on shuffle slide that hold button over and then go about your day on the slopes fine and then head into starbucks for some coffee after a few runs and get online. sounds pretty sick but i dont like that its only i think 16 gigs. or maybe 8. I just like to be able to hold hours and hours of video with my 80 gig classic.
there cool but for 3 or 4 hundred dollars you could get a cheap laptop for that price. i would just get a 80 gb zune or ipod, cheaper, and probly less breakable
I have an old 30 gig photo, it's fucking bombproof. Well, it was bombproof until it started going apeshit recently, however I'd probably buy an 80 gig ipod video over an ipod touch simply because I need the space for all my movies, photos and music. I probably won't invest in anything flash until memory capabilities are improved.
I don't get why touch screens are so damn popular...I find them rather annoying instead, buttons are much simpler and you can feel them in your pocket rather than pulling your ipod out everytime you need to skip a song. Also, Itunes is simply nothing special, drag and drop is much simpler in my opinion. The only attractive apple product is the 80gig Ipod right now, because it retails for 259, which is the same as an 8gig nano, and that is a helluva lot of music.
not true...there are bigger flashdrives out there(sony has a laptop running on 40gb of flash memory). Its just too expensive at this point to produce a larger memory product. In time, Flash memory will be the main type for all portable personal electronics.
the touches screen isnt like any other though. wonder why you cant use a stylus with one? its because the Touch's interface and touch use is made only for the finger. so all of you people saying it would suck for skiing and the songs would change, blah blah.... youre wrong. the only reason i wouldnt get a touch is because i would be scared to land on it, like i usually do on other MP3 players, not because the songs would skip. use the lock function otherwise.
this was what I thought was so mazing about the old ipods. there is a wheel, and 1 button. I usually dont even look at my ipod unless im selecting an album, and I absolutely love it that way. This is entirely not true for the touch.
personally, I think the 2nd gen ipod mini is the best one (for my uses) because it's extreamly durable, has enough memory to hold my entire library, and I love the simplicity of it.
iTunes can easily be changed to drag and drop. Just need to change the preferences on your iPod. And who are you to say none of the apple products are appealing. I think the new iMac for 1299 is pretty damn appealing...
Someone in one of my classes had the 8 gb one, it was really sick. Not only was the interface and everything just as nice as on the iphone, but he had also cracked some software thing so that he had a NES and SNES emulator running off his ipod touch so he was able to play all of those classic games (and apparently they only take up a few kilobytes each also.) It was awesome, he could listen to music and would have the a band b buttons pushable by touchscreen. Also he was able to use safari to check google maps and stuff for free (no subscriptions.)
The one disadvantage is that to control volume you need to use the touchscreen controls.
my friend got one the day it came out. pretty sick.
but yeah, it's pretty much an iPhone with out the phone part. It doesn't have any external buttons except for the home button so if you want to change the song it's all on the screen.
But seriously, I still prefer my 3 year old 20 gig iPod above everything else. It's been dropped numerous times, and spent an entire night out in the rain last weekend. Still works. Shit's indestructible, I swear.
i'm sorry guys, but i have one and would never pay $400 for it in my life.
we devised a genius plan and ended up with two free ones. they are a neat show piece, but the interface just isn't quite streamlined enough. i have the NES emulator and all of the iPhone apps on it and it really just isn't that dope.
if you have the money and no conceivable better thing to buy, go for it. but if it's between a touch and a new ski suit. Touch < ski suit
I have an iPhone running 1.0.2 firmware and 3rd party apps, and it's the coolest thing ever...granted the touch requires you to actually touch it, but the little microphone piece on the headphones cab;e lets you skip songs, so throw it on shuffle and you're ready to go. Way cool.
