you guys that have your own companies(poniverous, etc), did you trademark your company name?
how much did it cost you?
ive been looking around the net and it seems awfully pricy(at least 400 bucks).

i believe that copyright and trademarks are free. registered trademark is what costs money.

The only thing that is free and legal is intellectual property. That is, the specific wording of ideas and concepts.
Any branding, logos, names, or technologies have to be registered as trade marks or patents, in the countries you want them to apply, to be legally defendable.

Part of the cost you're seeing westcoaststyle, is for the discovery and trade mark search that has to be carried out before a new mark is given. Lawyers...
