Thanks. Any ball park figure for costs. A few years ago I looked into it but it was from an non-sport agency. I don't know if that makes a difference or not.
Aren't you in the Whistler region? My info probably won't help (different caliber, different side of the world) Almost all of the off site jams have been ride on boxes with helmet requirements tied into local hills, so either the hill picked up the insurance or the USASA did. The only exception was the Boston Ski Market Jam last fall. Not sure how Seth got that one covered other than he had a dozen sponsor tents there. (There was no direct cost)
get your event sanctioned by your freestyle governing body. although this will require all your competitors to be members, there will be no insurance costs to you.
once you become a member of your national governing body, you have a very hefty insurance policy on you. not 100% on what it is exactly but it definately should cover your needs.
the big problem with sanctioning an event is every has to be a member or a temporary member. That costs quite a bit and goes against my ideas. I don't think the buck should be passed to the competitors. So many companies are making money off events, they should be paying for it.
