lol, yeah. Rumsfeld is a dumbass, and whats worse is that the commander in cheif of the most powerful army the world has ever seen has his only army experience as a deserter in the fuckin national guard. I think general wessley clarke should join the democrats, and beat the republicans, its the only hope for the us, soon they will lose credibility in world trade, and wont be able to pay off its armies. Its allready happening with breaches of NAFTA, and other WTO supervised trade deals, and even UN and geneva sanctioned laws. They are the only superpower still using world illegalized mines, they broke the anti-icbm treaties with russia, and with that discredited future treaties with NATO. The national defecit for the US is over 1/2 of a TRILLION $, which is funny since the bush administration made a 550 billion $ tax cut to the richest 20% of the United States taxpayers. WTF? Not to mention that the US hasnt been this seperated since the civil war, which leads me to believe that Dubya is the WORST president on EARTH, even Buchanan was better, and he fuckn caused the civil war. Never has the world been so anti-american. With the clinton administration, there were at least peace keeping missions, and not WARS. Whenever you say that war will help ppl, you should be shot on site, because more then 6000 civilians in iraq lay dead.

a right wing is more economically viable because its closer to a dictatorship, and with more power to one man, its easier to get things done. Its also more economically viable because left wing tries to create an equality, which means to levitate the status of the poor. things like welfare, and universal healthcare are more the focus of left wing, right wing is more about military.

Where do I start...?

First of all...noone is loosing interest in US trade, because they can't. China or anyone else can not afford to loose trade relations with the United States so its not going to happen. Illegalized mines? What are you talking about? Where do you get this from? Such a definite statement haas to be backed up...please let me see your source for this, it interests me.

Don't even get me started on taxes. Most of the top 20% are people who work for their money. People who learned skills and have developed and put them to use. These peolpe aren't just free-be-ing on some big platform of free wealth. They work hard for their money and they deserve to keep it.

Are you kidding me?? VIETNAM??EH???I think you're blowing things out of porportion here. Its ok for people to disagree on issues. It happens. Its not really even a bad thing, for it teaches us that we can express our own opinions against the government. They country isn't exactly seperated like it was over slavery or vietnam. Have you forgotten the sense of unity that has resulted from september 11th. I don't exactly call that seperation and I also don't call it gone.

Buchanan didn't start the civil war...I'm sorry, but the civil war result the result of two entirely different life, economic, and social styles of two parts of the country. Buchanan didn't wake up one morning and just start the civil war. It doesn't matter who was president...it would have happened no matter who was president. And the same goes for Bush. He didn't cause the war in Iraq. A history of opressed people and growing problem did.

Kosovo???Do you remember that at all? I'm pretty sure that planes dropping bombs = war.

War in Iraq might have killed 6000 people. What if Sadam was still in power though? What if it became 6000 Americans in our homeland courtesy of a big warhead. I'm fairly certain it would have resulted in more than 6000 dead. So infact war DOES help sometimes. Because 12,000 is more than 6,000.

I agree with some things you said for instance I do feel its wrong to give rich people tax cuts but im a little biased. My dad went to school for 24 years of his life to become a doctor he works 4.5 months a year that goes straight to taxes so generations of lazy people on welfare can sit around their apartments dealing drugs bitching how the white man is oppressing them. I mean my dad pays roughly 100k a year in taxes thats supporting probably 10 or so families (saying that it all went to welfare) personally I think its fucked up he dedicated and sacrifced a large portion of his life so he could buy anything he wanted and so his children had nothing holding them back from their dreams. Between malpractice insurance and taxes he keeps about 40% of the money he makes each year. This kind of taxation will lead to less interest in people entering the medical field in the future. I know my opinion is biased because I have something to gain from it but its still a valid opinion.

the united nations banned the use of mass mining by aircraft. the united states still does this. All of the former yugoslavia shit that happened, NATO was on a peacekeeping mission sanctioned by the UN. There is no proof whatsoever that saddam was a threat to US. Saddam was a real bad guy, its a good thing he's out of power, i will not dispute that, but the fact is, baghdad, the most advanced city in all the middle east, in the most advanced (by advanced i mean economically and socially) country in the middle east lies in ruin, the quality of life before the invasion was on a much higher level for iraqis. as i said before, they still havent found any proof Saddam was a threat to the US.
i guess u were right about the vietnam thing, so i wont go past that.
Buchanan was a major contributing factor to the civil war because he allowed the southern states to create slavery bills that allowed them to hold back black peoples freedoms. Lincoln rejected these bills, and the south thought this was a breach of states rights...
Another thing. What can you do with 100 billion $, that you cant do with 3? Why not tax the living shit out of ppl who can more then afford it, because its 'unfair' right? So then why dont the 20% of the poorest ppl get tax breaks as well? That is unfair.

The tax cuts are fair because the lower income people aren't paying many if any taxes at all....its not a current flat rate, and the upperclass are still getting taxed at a rate far higher than anyone else.

I agree with you one most points but i have to disagree that sadam wasnt a threat we dont know all the intellegence that the government does so we cant always nit-pick their descions. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't but we cant be the judge of that. And the whole fact that they havnt found the nukes or bio weps. Imagine sadam asked you (a citizen of iraq) to bury the nukes in your backyard. How long do you think it would take someone to actualy dig up some warheads in your backyard? Answer : nobody would ever find them. Look at the size of iraq, it's a sandbox of epic proportions did you ever lose a toy in the sandbox as a kid? wait where am i goin with this

My economics professor explained to me one day that 0% unemployment leads to inflation rapdily I dont remeber the whole theory behind it (took him 3 hour clsas to go over it) but roughly 5% unemployment is ideal for our economy

ooh, and the china-us trade. China is pretty much in the stonage right now wrt US, but its also massivley advancing. Guess what? The US is TOTALLY screwing over china, china takes it because it needs it, but they are also a proud ppl, they wont forget. Also, eu is getting fed up with the US and Canada is getting majorly screwed. Just imagine, when the liberals lose power, canada is gonna slowly step back from nafta, and heavily use protectionism. soon after that the US will be beggin canada to re-create a free trade zone simply because our massive amounts of natural resources(especially fresh water). The only problem right now is that we rely on US more then they rely on canada, but things are slowly changing.

one of the reasons for the tax cut is so there is more money to stimulate the economy. If the tax cut was given to the poor it they could buy some bread or something and it wouldnt help the economy as much as a rich person buying a house or an Escalade.

Have u ever heard of the North American Free Trade Agreement? NAFTA in other words, means that there can be no import taxes on ANY goods, nor can there be international bans of goods. So far, bush has put taxes on softwood, grain, and banned canadian beef forover a month. Which means he is in MAJOR breach of NAFTA, and ultimately WTO, this is pissing off a lot of canadians.

^Lets say you get 20 dollars a day but you have to give 10 away in taxes. Youre gonna spend the remaining 10 on necessities. Lets say they cut your taxes so you only have to give 5 away. Now you have 5 extra dollars that you don't need. You can spend this on something you don't need. I guess this isnt a very good model but it makes sense to me. Also the tax cuts make him more popular with the higher income groups.

It doesn't matter how much money they have in the first place....look if they work for the money...they deserve...that simple. Why does some lame ass imigrant from Mexico who doesn't have a job deserve to get my money? Look I'm not some stuck up bastard, but if i spend 4 years in college, 4 years in specialty school, 8 years in training...then I deserve what I make! Its not fair to give that money to other lame asses who can't make their own.

And especially if I'm not sending my kids to public school...then why the hell should I pay for it? People who send their kids to private school are spending shitloads of money to pay for that...let alone you take some of that away to pay for someone else's education. Thats not fair at all.

to ANY of you ignorant news picking fuckers who think iraq was all fun and games for the US... think again. I have a very close friend who I spent a few days with last week on his break from tour od duty. He was on the front lines, sometimes THE front line. The war was not nearly as easy as the news made it sound. The food the soldiers were fed was consistently poisened... never heard that on TV did you? How about the fact that his artitlery unit pulled more fast coord switches in a single night then in all of the gulf war? he was literily shitting himself becasue they, the front line, was surrounded in the middle of a dust storm.

Also, as for this whole 'war is bad' shit. war is inevitable, there will ALWAYS be war. it is not possible for multiple societies to run without major conflicts.

Agreed, Rumsfeld lied, Bush isn't intelligent at all, and the country is **BECOMING** seperated. But you can't just go by what the news says. The news is all watered down bullshit, and it's feeding the seperation of the country.

War is only inevitable for those who believe it is the only way. Those brave men are dying out there, bush isnt making there lives any easier. I dont think ANYONE can argue that bush is anything but a bad, REALLY BAD, leader and human being. My aunt runs for the biggest non-profit org in washington and has been in close contact with the past 3 administrations. She told my family last winter that during Bush Sr's presidency the biggest problem he faced was covering up the current president's coke problem and his multiple arrests. (Yes thats right he has been arrested but no one knows because that info is locked away) First president ever with a criminal record. There is just no way any person with intelligence could support this man. He is, undisputabely, the worst decision the US has ever made. The US had a booming economy when he was elected and now it is doing worse than the 80s recession. He took more vacation days his first 9 months than clinton or his father took their whole terms. He has repeatably gone against all internation organizations and broken treaty after treaty But no one hears about it BECAUSE HIS ADMINISTRATION DOES SUCH A WONDERFUL JOB OF COVERING UP ALL THIS BULLSHIT AND SUGAR COATING IT. Just last week he admitted to lying...outright lying, about information reguarding uranium purchases by Iraq. Not many people heard about this confession because the press was pressured to not publish it. What an asshole

one thing....the recession is not in ANY WAY bush's fault. IT is becuse the booming economy was based solely on the DOT COM business's, which were running on super inflated stock prices. The money people put into the companies was way more then teh companies were worth. When the dot coms started to fail, so did the economy. It was starting to happen with clinton left office, and there is no way you can blame it on bush.

had you much of an understanding of how the US economy was run, you'd know that the president has very little to do with it. Alan Greenspan is the one in charge of it, and the feds control it, bush does little with it.

As for electing bush the us's worst decision... a few tings... first off, the US didnt' choose him... there were more votes for gore. secondly, there have been many MANY MANY decisions made that were worse tehn it. (manuel noregea anyone? how about vietnam? slavery was good? you get my point). in the long run, bush will do jack shit to our country.

OK. Don Rumsfeld is smarter than all of you so don't call him stupid simply because you don't agree with his policies.
At least Pat has a 'fair and balanced' look at all this. He is right about the economy, and September 11th didn't really help that either. I am sick and tired of seeing the current administration be admonished on this site for things that happened 3, 5, 10 years ago. Sure what happened back then was bad, but please don’t use it to bolster your otherwise weak points.
About Bush being a bad leader. That is really the only thing he is GOOD at, leading. His advisors are the truly smart ones, he just has the power (in a bumbling, grammar-less, manner) to lead.
On to a different point…Nickskier said that if you have 500,000 in the back and you’re making 200,000 a year you aren’t going to spend it. Although that might seem like a lot of money to you, to someone in a different area with different costs that isn’t as much, because it doesn’t buy as much in their market environment.

i know, i used weak numbers, but you get my my point. people who already have alot of money aren't going to spend what little extra they get from their tax cut, their going to put it away because they already had so much money to spend, therefore they aren't spending more therefore it doesn't help the economy

that's not true. Knowing a few rich people, and taking info given to me by my economics teacher, the rich people DO spend their tax money. They spend it on things, those things require someone to make them, yada yada yada... it's basic trickle down economics. Did you know that those top 2% of the people who are getting all teh tax breaks also pay over 60% of the total taxes in the US? I was where you are before I got all the information down. It's fair, and it needs to be done.
