What the hell! I update to the 'Final 7.0 version' and now everytime i start the program it freezes. is anyone else having these types of problems?
first it would freeze when it would try 'determining gapless...' so i disabled that.
now when i try to play a song it plays it 10-30 seconds after i click it. the program becomes unresponzive yet it plays the song. wtf is going on!
my music is on an external HD. my laptop is new and nice and i don't have a ton of programs running. i am going to kill someone!

fixed my itune for those who ever run into this problem.
i uninstalled the program.
restarted
then downloaded and installed itunes
when i opened it my library was still intact somehow (i think it read it from my external hd, which is where i backed up my library files.)
anyway so it froze again because it was trying to open the corrupt library. so then i reopened and canceled the 'determining gapless...' stuff by clicking the X in the title bar really quick so it couldn't freeze at the step it was freezing at.
then i changed my itunes folder to my laptop from my external hard drive, crossing my fingers and hoping it wouldn't forget all of my ratings. i didn't, it tried to move all of my music.
i didn't organize my files (which it asked me to do) because i didn't want it to remove them from my external hard drive to my laptop.
then after selecting no to that. i changed my library back to the folder it was originally on my external hard drive. it asked me to organize the files, i said yes and it works fine now.
fucking weird apple software.

I had the same exact problem, and it was always the same song that froze it up in "gapless playback" i deleted that song, but it still was mad slow, so i just opened iTunes and left it on overnight, lat it run its gapless test and now it works fine
